Mitt's Outrageous Equation
Electing Clinton or Obama is a "Surrender to Terror." ?????? What an asswipe!
This is the result of years of Democratic appeasement of the Bush/GOP party line: to be a Democratic candidate is to be labeled an accessory to terror.
I am glad such a man as Romney has no chance ot be the next President. I have absolutely no faith in the prospect of not hearing more of this slander from now until November.
-
Hmm,
this seems like good news for the Dems. ALL the press attention will be on Clinton/Obama for the next several months.
-
and somewhere....
the last lone Romney supporter wept.
-
I see..
I must've missed that "surrender to terror" plank on the Democratic platform.
Maybe it's right next to that "declare war on Christmas" plank.
-
Whither Huck Now?
Is this part of a Miracle? Is the Lord raising Governor Huckabee up?
-
"Aiding a surrender to Terror"
HAHAHAHA- God Hates you, Mitt Romney
-
Maybe Romney could do us all a favor ...
... and spend the next few months campaigning on behalf of McCain.
-
...a surrender to terror.
This is what the election of a Democratic president amounts to: a surrender to terror. Are we perhaps seeing the first glimpse of the Republican presidential campaign's general theme? Gee, I wonder.
-
And Gomer Pyle?
Hope Huck fights on; just really miss "goo-oo-oo-lee" being a part of the English language. Of course God did smite those Southern states for voting for him (tornadoes & such). McCain (10000 years in Iraq) must be the Chosen One, after all.
Wonder how long it'll take Limbaugh etc to get onboard...
-
Robert Franklin
I'm not so sure about that. McCain will have all this time to take pot shots at the Democrats, while Clinton and Obama are beating the crap out of each other, and reducing their resources.
It's not like the press is going to focus on the positives of the Dems.
-
If Only
If only Hillary Clinton had the patriotism and love of party to do the same, we might see a Democratic president in the White House next January.
Hello President McCain
-
"...aiding a surrender to terror..."
"And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror ..."
Since I'm highly caffeinated I was gonna hop right on this but I see a number of stalwart Salon commentators have beat me to it. Rock on.
-
Mitt! Mitt! Mitt!
I just had to say it one last time.
Well I guess now he'll finally have time to defend abortion rights.
Or not.
-
Romney's magic underwear is on too tight
"Surrender to terror"?
The only surrender to terror is voting Republican. All they have to sell is fear and voting for them is caving in to fear. This is why Bush never really went after binLaden, they're after the same thing and are useful to each other.
-
Romney then added,
"now if you'll pardon me, I must return to my former career as a douche. I have several appointments already lined up for this afternoon, and it certainly wouldn't do to disappoint all those vaginas the first day back on the job, now would it?"
-
a vote for the Republican nominee is a "Surrender to Terror"
It is the Republicans who have terrorized the American people for seven years. Terrorist gain their power through fear. The Republicans have used "fear" as surely as any "Islamo-fascist" has used bombs. If the American people once again fall prey to the Republicans using fear like a blunt-force weapon, then yes, we will have surrendered to terror.
-
Mitt Put Campaign Focus Back on Iraq
This can hurt the Republicans. McCain's star has risen while our attention went to the economy. Now, with attention back on Iraq, Americans may remember that they want get out.
-
"The Romney Family dog...
... having gone into hiding, could not be reached for comment."
Good riddance to a nasty piece of work.
-
The Suspender
Um, suspends his campaign? In case McCain keels over, or what?
It would be more accurate to say something like "Romney decides to quit throwing good money after bad, quits quixotic quest for Presidency."
-
Now Republicans can crossover and vote against Hillary
The G.O.P. organized tens of thousands of party activists to register and vote against Clinton in the red states, according to Time magazine. (See the article at thecityedition.com for more on what Karl Rove is up to.) With Romney out, we're likely to see hundreds of thousands crossover in the remaining primaries and deliver the delegates to Obama. For obvious reasons, Obama will not get all those votes in November, thereby delivering the White House back to the Wall Street interests and conservatives. In a nutshell, this is why superdelegates are necessary in the Democratic Party.
-
He will be back.
Sooner than anyone thinks.
-
Another vitcim of the sub-prime credit crunch
Mitt Romney may have governed the f*ck out Massachussetts (it's an internet thing, go and look it up) but now he's just another sad victim of the sub-prime credit crunch.
Those delegates were just so darn expensive that Mitt was going to borrow money to keep on buying them, but he was torpedoed by McCain failing to vote on the stimulus package.
First the Huckabee switcheroo in West Virginia, now this. No wonder Mitt's feeling a little cranky and displacing his anger from McCain onto the Democrats.
I am confused though about a vote for the Democrats being a vote for terror - because old Walter Mitt-y there and his two remaining amigos on the Republican campaign trail are what terrify the bejeezus out of me. Did I miss something?
-
Good news maybe
If Obama and Clinton can change their way of competing with one another to focus on how they would run against McCain and the accumulated sins of the Republicans in the White House, on the Hill and in the Supreme Court.
The big win for the democratic nominee is that Tuesday did not end the Democratic Nomination contest. It means that the focus of news stories will be there until maybe even June, perhaps even until the convention. If the contest avoids being fratricidal (or sororicidal) the Democrats gain by achieving focus on the broad policies that bot Clinton and Obama support, as does the rest of the party -- health care reform, legality, etc.
The big lose for the Democrats is if the win-ugly behavior continues. Both candidates (but I must say particularly Clinton) need to rein in their supporters so that they stop tearing the democratic campaign apart. This is just the primaries, not the general election.
As for Romney's little speach -- sheesh -- that did not sell for you already.
