Speaking of opposition...
Usually the GOP's PR point people get busy with "Oooh, we can't wait to go up against [Democratic candidate of choice]!" or do the Briar Patch line early in their attempt to spin things to their favor. This time, though, they seem to be pretty quiet. Maybe it's because Rove's not on the case. They're probably quietly crossing their fingers that it'll be Clinton against McCain, and don't want to spoil things by tipping their hat early on.
I remember them doing that with Kerry, like "Oooh, we don't want to go up against HIM!" and then they trounced him in the general. Maybe McCain's near-coronation has demoralized them, so they're still processing that, or maybe they're saving their money to wait until the Democrats nominate their candidate.
