I think it's great that the Democrats are smoking the Republicans on the youth vote (just as I'm stoked by the much-greater Democratic turnouts at every primary -- I think that's a really hopeful thing). Let's hope the young voters don't get so demoralized by a lackluster, grasstops-directed Clinton Republicratic candidacy that they bolt the Democratic Party or become disaffected independents, or worse, Young Republicans. Ideally, though, we can avoid that nightmare scenario if Obama wins the nomination. :)

Yesterday, I spent 9 hours on a phone bank calling Democrats to urge them to vote in the primary. It was a fascinating and wonderful experience.

It was wonderful because there were many young people participating. In fact the young outnumbered the oldsters like myself.

A young, hispanic young man who cast his first vote was so proud that he voted. He told me what inspired him and his family was Hillary Clinton. He believed that she was instrumental

in his success as a person and as a student. She gave him the desire to learn about Government and to do his best. I wish, I could express how much his words and his sincerity touched me.

He was not the only one who felt this way in the room. Everyone should try and have this experience by participating in the process. I am glad I took the time to do this. My only regret is that I didn't start sooner.

I should have previewed my letter since I unintentionally repeated myself in the use of word young, but I think everyone knows what I meant.

Unfortunately they're not reliable voters, only compose 8% of the vote, and btw in Both terms of Reagan and Poppy 1 Democratic primary voter turnout was better than the Repugs.

I do believe they will vote. And vote responsibly. Thank God they're voting for our qualified candidate.

Running against John McCain's resume and "bipartisan", "independent" reputation will be no easy task even for Hillary.

as a democrat, i am just happy to see so many people enthusiastic about the candidates, turning out to vote and to campaign. this bodes well for us in the end and we should be encouraging open, honest debate and encouragement of the process and the party.

This Democratic primary season is exciting for many reasons, unfortunately none are good for the Democrats. If Obama wins, the Republicans will rip him to shreds using facts that for some inexplicable reason, Hillary's campaign is not.

Let me take that back, it's not inexplicable, we saw how our impartial media played the tip-toe attempts by Bill Clinton to point out those facts. The ham fisted Republicans won't be so dainty. They will ram down our throats the fact that Blacks are voting overwhelmingly for Obama, and if you thought blowjobs in the oval office were bad, wait'll they showcase the first Gangsta Rap Award Show held in the Rose Garden. Any delusion the Glass Menagerie raised Caroline Kennedy holds about Obama transcending race and converting Red into Blue (or Purple, or whatever) will be forgiven as silly. But for the rest of us, the word will be, and is............... Stupid.

Hillary's camp is laying off the Rezco time bomb for obvious reasons, they must have dozens, if not hundreds of Rezcos in their supersized closet. Ditto, Obama's bedmates. the coal industry, and many other environmently unfriendly supporters. The point is twofold. He's getting a free ride because Hillary can't attack him for things she's also guilty of, and the media love him, have formed a protective ring around him and won't let any damaging news get out. The Republicans won't be so kind.

But there's one thing that will guarantee not only his defeat, but the undying enmity of the American public for generations to come. And it's the one thing he's the most proud of......bringing the youth of America into the political process. Dear readers, I ask you, have you heard anything, any one thing from an Obama Youth groupie, that hinted of cognitive ability? Picture Frank Lutz, with a hundred 18-25 year olds in a room, recording the responses for the attack ads to come.

Now I know I'll rot in Hell for mentioning the name, Sean Hannity, but he had a piece recently that illustrates my point beautifully. A bunch of Obama Apostles are in an auditorium, still swooning, in a state of nirvana after watching a patented Barack Barn Burner. Hannity has a microphone, goes into the audience and asks a question: "Can anyone name anything that Obama's done?....one thing of note that he's done?" The murmurring stopped.........stone cold silence. The kids looked at each other nervously......silence. Hannnity points the mike at one person and asks, "you...., tell me one thing that Obama's done." Squirming in his seat, he mumbles, "orit..orat...or.orio." Hannity say, "Yeah, oratory" Mercifully Sean points to another...."you...., can you name something?" "Uh, uh, he he inspired me."........Right.

The Republicans will point, justifiably, and say, "There you are. That's Obama's constituency: Blacks, gullible, naive, wishfull thinking Liberals, and the most dangerous of all, millions of functionally illiterate ( as Joe Pesci made famous ) "Yewts."
