MacEwan

Of course he realized it. He probably also didn't care. If you get that chance at advertising your company, you take it. Even if they just report, as you did, that he seemed to miss the point of the press conference, he still gets more of a mention for his company than if he just said "And now, one political moron will endorse another" and stepped back.

quote of the day

"Schwarzenegger appeared to realize how silly the event was getting."

You mean it wasn't silly enough that the guy who played Kindergarten Cop, who is now governor of California, endorsed a guy who said we'll be in Iraq for the next 100 years? It could possibly get sillier?

That's the current state of America, right there.

The Last Action Zero

What's silly is three GOP swells anywhere near a solar panel. Don't they know that alternative energy is un-Republican? For the GOP, "alternative energy" means using natural gas, coal, or perhaps ethanol, in addition to oil. Maybe whale and seal oil would be another alternative they'd consider exploring.

And if Rudy's now going to be McCain's groupie for the rest of the Straight Talk Express(tm), at least somebody get him a nice dress to wear. Something conservative.

I guess this means McCain is a moderate

When Arnie moved up the primary date, the CA Republican chair moved to block independents from voting in the primary. There are a sizable number of independent swing voters in this state, who usually vote Republican. That should be good news for Romney, as core conservatives hate McCain, and consider him a Liberal.

Ostensibly the move may have been crafted to give Duncan Hunter's fledgling candidacy a boost, Nehring and Hunter are both San Diego area Republicans, but Hunter couldn't get out of the gate. There is additionally a large Mormon population in the state, which Romney might tap. McCain might have just gotten the worst endorsement he could have received, because it tends to paint him as a Liberal, and moderate Republicans have been excluded.

Bush dragged McCain through the mud in 2000, so you have to wonder is anyone McCain really needs, in his corner? If McCain does win the nomination, he will be badly weakened, and have no connections to the core faithful, no matter how many bars of bomb Iran, he can sing.

"Schwarzenegger appeared to realize how silly the event was getting."

Ummm, you are talking about a man who stood in front of a giant faucet spewing red-colored water, then turned it off to show us (residents of CA) that he was going to cut the deficit. We are talking about the same guy, right?

I'm definitely voting for Obama now

Now that I know that Gray "Death Penalty for Anyone Who Dares to Get Sick in a California Prison" Davis has endorsed Hillary Clinton, I suppose to HAVE to vote for Obama.

Davis is such a cruel and hateful man, he even made me like having a Republican for Governor.

Arnold -- I love you for putting human rights back on the agenda when the Gray Davis supporters were trying to pretend that prisoner abuse only happens overseas.

But sorry Arnold -- no McCain for me.

Lesser of 2 evils

If you must endorse someone, might as well pick someone who's still in the race. That's a resounding recommendation, n'est-ce pas?
