If McMaverick wins the republican nomination, I can't imagine he'd be dumb enough to pick 9iu11ani as his VP, seeing as they both have trouble with values voters, so it's probably safe to say Giuliani is angling for AG in a McCain administration.
By the way, nice campaign Rudy!
duh
It would make sense for Rudy to endorse McCain, but has Rudy done anything sensible in recent years? We will see.
I am sitting here filled with glee at the political demise of Guiliani. He is the one guy that I REALLY didn't want to see as president. Republican primary voters are actually making good choices this time around: Thompson out, Guiliani and Huckabee all but out, Gingrich was never able to get started. We could do MUCH worse than either McCain or Romney as president. Not to say that I want either, but from one what I know now I wouldn't feel too bad about either one as president.
...feel very bad about Guiliani as AG.
If McCain wins the nomination, and if Clinton wins, then McCain's Straight Talk Express will run right over the Clinton campaign, McCain will be President, and then maybe it'll be Rudy G as a Supreme Court justice nominee once one of the older justices retires. Then it's game over for the country.
Jennifer Granholm!
She is the Governor of Michigan. She was Michigan's A.G. before she was elected Governor (twice). She gave a wonderful 50-minute State of the State speech tonight.
Please vote for a Democrat, and get Jennifer to boot.
gains back the Christian Right, runs away with the South and beats Clinton 54-46. Of course, he would beat Obama by a slightly smaller margin. Take it from a senior citizen, the American electorate is spectacularly stupid.
I've been impressed by Granholm in the past (I'm not too psyched about her endorsement of Clinton, but so be it.)
That being said, at this point the next Democratic AG will probably be...John Edwards. (With Biden as Secretary of State, unless Clinton ekes out a win somehow, in which case it'd be Richard Holbrooke.)
On one hand, I'm glad to see Rudy out, since I find him personally insufferable. On the other hand, on the issues, he seems clearly preferable to (i.e., less repugnant than) Mitt Romney, who I also find personally insufferable.
Still, I think McCain would be real trouble for the Democrats, which makes me hope Romney gets the nod, but then if the Republican were actually win the White House, I'd much prefer McCain to Rombot. Aw, the heck with it. Let's just elect a Democrat like we know we should.
(Memo to Ralph Nader: You're a consumer advocate giant and you have my eternal respect and appreciation for that. And yes, you have the right to run if you want to. But please, for the love of all that's good and decent, stay out of this election so we can get somebody decent at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue this time. Another 4 or 8 years of this mess might just send us over the edge.)
