to you, Tim. I echo many comment makers in tabbing you one of Salon's most valuable assets. I hope Alex will keep to your high standards, keen insight, and acerbic humor.
And I hope you'll get a chance to raise Politico's game; they can certainly use you.
Peace.
I've been reading War Room most days for the last 2 years and have greatly enjoyed your writing and respected your opinions. Perhaps our high expectations have led some of us to be too critical of you in a time of high intra-movement tension, which is regrettable. I'm sure all of the readers who took the time to comment here will miss you in time. May you be well, and may you continue to contribute so ably to the progressive movement in your new position.
Mr. Koppelman, you have big shoes to fill, and we're ready for you to rise to the challenge. It will be one to take the helm in this week in progressive politics. Good luck!
Your posts have always been a concise summary of the current political events - the CliffsNotes of American politics. Your wit and humor add a sense of levity to an increasingly polarized and bitter political landscape.
War Room was what introduced me to Salon, and despite all the bad things I've heard about Politico, I'm sure you will be an asset to their organization. Call it the anti-Kristol, an organization shows what their goals are through the people they hire.
Give us all a star for old times sake.
Oh, no! Good luck, Mr. Grieve! You'll be missed!
Alex Koppelman isn't nearly the smartass you are.
And....Politico?????? Geez.
Oh, man, Tim... your work here made War Room my # one blog read and the one site that I consistently check throughout the day. I'm really sorry to see that you're leaving. But Alex has done a great job in his posts, so you're leaving War Room in great hands.
I'll miss you dearly, Tim, and may even have to check out Politico to continue following your career. =)
Much love, and best wishes!!
G
Drop in once in a while to say hi, okay?
Thanks, Tim
Oh, Tim, you can't do this to us. I agree with so many others that War Room is, in the end, what has made Salon worth subscribing to, year after year. And what has kept so many of us from slipping over the edge during these most disconcerting of times.
When it finally dawns on you that Politico is not where your heart is, please think of your myriad loyal fans at Salon, and tell Alex you want your job back. My hunch is, after taking all the heat for not being able to fill your shoes, he'll be more than glad to step aside.
Best wishes to all your hopes and dreams!
(you can rest later!)
thanks again
You said so much so concisely and so quickly. I feel immense gratitude for your efforts.
I'm glad you didn't go back to being a California lawyer. There are too many of us already, some of whom wish they were having as much fun as you seem to be.
Keep well.
Dear Tim:
I've really enjoyed your posts, and found War Room my go-to spot for political analysis and the general shedding of light on topics that normally slip under the radar.
Best of luck to you
Thank you for your insightful selection and enumeration of the political news. Very much enjoyed your good-humored take. We'll see ya over at Politico.
Thank you for all you've done Tim. Alex has some big shoes to fill. From my perspective, you nearly always did a fine job of providing updates throughout the week on what was going on politically and managing to keep the prose to a minimum so those of us that have to work too could stay abreast without investing so much time we'd find ourselves on unemployment.
Already reading it and will see you over there, but I'll be right here in the same seat in front of the same computer. Thanks for some good news and some good laughs TG.
and goodbye. Can't say I'll miss the relentless anti-Hillary screeds of late, but the move to Politico says a lot. Toodle-oo~
Frankly, Salon is better than Politico and moving there is a probably a big mistake. Unless, of course, Salon craters. Then it is a smart move.
Also, the readers there aren't as intelligent as the readers here (prior responses to your farewell notwithstanding). You can retract your farewell and stay with us and we readers forget the whole sordid affair.
Otherwise, good luck! War Room has been the first URL I visit each day and I've enjoyed your writing.
gonna miss your posts and moderation of mayhem in the war room; bright side to this: fewer screeds from all the tim haters.
I don't usually post any comments, but I would like to say that I have been a loyal reader of the war room from the very beginning and I just wanted to say thank you Tim! You have done an amazing job at keeping the War Room and Salon sharp and informational during a very important time and I will miss you here. Cheers!
Great job, Tim. I've enjoyed reading you for years and you'll be missed. Best of luck at Politico!
Thank you, Tim, for all of your hard work.
don't let the bastards get you down. There are those of us, who really appreciate what you do. Often it may not seem that way to you, but bon voyage.
Hope the Politico is a good move all around.
Can the Daily Planet survive without Clark Kent? Is Jimmie Olsen up to the job?
Perry White
You'll be missed, Tim. Your column is the first one I click on when I read Salon. Good luck in your new endeavor.
I've been reading daily for the last couple of years and I'd like to thank you for the work you've done to keep your readers informed.
