  • Sword dancing for oil

I don't know if you've seen it, but the footage of Bush awkwardly and very uncomfortably "dancing" with a scimitar resting on his shoulder with the Saudi prince is priceless. Well worth the skyrocketing oil and/or weak dollar to watch that. He looked like he wanted to crawl under a rock. Ah, bless YouTube. It's about 9 seconds into it...

"Dance for me, President Bush. We own you." Stupid is as stupid does.

  • Bush is pathetic but so are we.

Bush is pathetic in that he abdicated his responsibility from day one to lead this country out of it's dependence on fossil fuels. He seems to have done this due to ignorance, ideology, greed and spending too much time sitting on Cheney's lap telling him what he wanted for Christmas.

The rest of us are pathetic in that we allowed this clown to be president these past seven years and never dragged him from the White House, tarred and feathered him and made a YouTube piece of him running down Pennsylvania Avenue.

  • It's All Just Mugging for the Cameras

I recall hearing on NPR one of the Saudis stating that, of course, they would base their price of oil upon economic considerations. And (by implication) not on Mr. Bush's desperate pleas.

Seriously - how can Bush ask for oil price decreases with a straight face? His US constituency of oil-producing corporations, never mind his oil-producing friends in the Middle East, all benefit from high prices.

  • These White House press briefings are just useless bullshit from both sides

The press secretary pretends she's telling the press something and the so-called press (actually a bunch of ass-licking posers) pretends that they are journalists trying to get to the truth.

It's all just a fucking game.

  • 150 miles to a gallon

CNN ran a story about a few guys who put together a hybrid car (the used a stock Saturn hybrid SUV) that gets 150 miles a gallon. They modified it using parts and components that they bought off the shelf commercially. We all know what happened to GM's electric car, Willie Nelson uses only bio-diesel in his stock diesel Mercedes and VW, Brazil is 100% gasoline free using sugar based ethanol. The reason we have to wittness the humiliating spectacle of the President of the United States dancing like an organ grinder's monkey with Saudi royalty is because the big oil companies have a strangle hold on our government.

The technology is there, its real and its viable. But we're alsways told its 30 years away. We've been hearing that for decades. Unless our government is wrestled away from the big oil companies we'll be seeing our next President play court jester to Saudi royalty as well.

  • Jeez

How did the King manage to listen to Bush's spiel without asking "Are you retarded? Your very argument means we can charge whatever the hell we want and you can't do anything about it."

American corporations selling chunks to economic powerhouses

Wall Street has endured a historic selloff of the city's blue bluest chips.

America is for sale - and the buyers of some of our most iconic corporate assets are a passel of Mideast oil sheiks, Asian government investment funds and market Marxists.

Sinking fast and growing desperate, some of the biggest corporations have been grabbing foreign dollars by selling chunks of themselves to economic powerhouses that were once second-tier states.

Amid a historic selloff of the city's bluest blue chips, Uncle Sam has been a bystander, lowering interest rates and peddling Treasury bonds as critics cry that the wheels are starting to fly off the U.S. economy.

  • but garry owen...

...sometimes Helen Thomas gets to ask a question to show those morons what being a reporter is all about. We can always hope that someone decides they would rather be a real reporter rather than an ass licking 'journalist'.

  • Consistency

Well, you've got to give them credit for consistency.

Dana Perino is just as stupid and insensitive as her boss, and the administration has made crass ignorance a consistent practice.

    So, no surprises here.

  • Hillary calls BUSH pathetic?

Isn't Hitlary one of the Senators who voted against drilling in Anwar? And also stopping the offshore drilling for oil so now China is drilling for oil off the coast of Florida.

Further, the biggest problem we have is the fact that we have not built new oil refineries in decades. WHY? Because no one wants one in their backyard. Well, NOW we are paying the price for that.

Additionally, with the price of gasoline as it is, hillary should check the taxes on each gallon of gas which is about $ 1.00 per gallon. By adding state taxes to federal taxes on gasoline that comes to $ 1.00 per galloon.

Want the price of gasoline to drop? Build more refineries, allow drilling to commence, drop the taxes on gasoline and see what the difference in price is THEN!

  • It is pathetic

Since the 1970's, the US has hidden 90% of the cost of a gallon of oil at the pump in federal taxes. Bush got elected by his oil buddies to make sure that state of affairs remained. To imagine that talking with the Saudis about increasing production will solve the problem when we will not take on our consumption, when our government will not level with the American people and tell them we're actually paying $30 a gallon, not $3, when we failed to secure the oil pipelines in an oil producing country we invaded... well, yeah, I call that pathetic.

  • He made a deal for the defense contractors

and Hillary would would make nice just like Bush with the Saudis because we need the oil for the oil companies to gouge us with and we need to take some of the money we give them for the oil and plow it back into the war industry.

What's Hillary going to do that isn't pathetic? Invade Saudi Arabia and take our oil?

That worked out real well for Bush and America with the last two countries we invaded.

What is the currnet price of oil?

Just what we need, another Clinton following in the path of a Bush.
