Credit for intelligence
Anyone who saw Bob Johnson making his remarks doesn't need the Washington Post or anyone else to "interpret" for them. Anyone who didn't see them, probably isn't interested enough in the 'news' to care what Bob Johnson says or meant.
I wish the press would give voters a little more credit for intelligence. i think this whole campaign "nastiness" is a produce of the 24-hour news cycle that supports a lot of people with not enough to do and not enough grit to go out and really report the issues. It's easier to play 'controversial' sound bites over and over and over until it seems like they're the only thing that's happening.
How about laying off the easy, phony issues and focusing on what the candidates are saying, and how they differ, on the things that matter.
