Disapproval From The People
Is leadership.
-
So Why Oh Why????
So why oh why oh why did the American people re-elect this fuckwit in 2004?
-
So why oh why oh why did the American people re-elect this fuckwit in 2004?
The same reason we'll have to pro war candidates (MCCain and Clinton) in the general election: the American people aren't that bright.
-
And as the shrub will tell you...
Harry Truman is now thought of as a pretty good president, a straight-shooting, pragmatic kinda guy who did little harm. Hard to imagine he was as arrogant, tone-deaf and destructive as Bush, but apparently folks at the time thought so.
-
I Wonder
If they have a prescribed number selected-----like if it hits 25 percent, we bomb Iran.
-
Truman? Really?
Why didn't Americans like Truman?
-
@ The Notorious W.E.S.
"Disapproval From The People...Is leadership."
It's true! If everyone tells you you're wrong yet you plow through anyway, you must actually be right! After all, why else would you do it?
Sadly, that is the logic in BushWorld.
-
And this matters WHY exactly?
After all, he's on his last year as President. He could have everyone in the entire country pissed off at him and he could still just laugh and say "I'm President and am going to do what I WANT to do...so suck it up." And as long as he doesn't break the law, there's nothing anyone could do.
SO...why not concentrate on what the political candidates who ARE running for President have to SAY?
Frankly, I'm not impressed with ANY of them myself.
-
With About One Month Left
In his 8 years, some advisor is going to say--"Let's try doing something the people want one time, see if that works."
-
So Why Oh Why????
Did Hillary Clinton buy this obvious fuckwit's case for war in Iraq?
-
So why oh why oh why did the American people re-elect this fuckwit in 2004?
Because John Kerry was the best the Democrats could come up with.
-
"And as long as he doesn't break the law, there's nothing anyone could do."
Sorry, I think the last seven years belies this statement. Why start following the law now?

"And as long as he doesn't break the law, there's nothing anyone could do."
How many laws has this guy and his administration broken? And what are the grand things we're doing about it????
Do you remember "L'etat c'est moi"? That's W in essence. He doesn't give a crap about law. He's proved that many times.
-
speaking of Truman, he rose to fame
as a Senator who investigated war profiteering!
is there anyone in DC these days who has the guts to do this- i.e. check on all the Halliburton games, not to mention Blackwater, those out of control corporations.
senators were outspoken and brave in those days; now they're just a bunch of pandering empty windbags.
-
Broken laws?
Anonymous is right - Bush hasn't broken any laws, because Congress has legalized the illegalities. And, besides, Georgejr SAYS he hasn't broken any laws.
Saying otherwise is "SO Pre-9/11".
-
So what?
Bush still rules this country with an iron fist. No one even dares challenge him. He controls the Democrats and Republicans in congress through his corporate cronies. The man could eat raw fetuses on live TV while executing 7 year old children and congress wouldn't even squeak. He could order Blackwater to slaughter the entire Senate and the press would say how 'resolved' he was. Face it, folks, the government does not govern this country, GE, Halliburton, Big Oil, and Big Pharma are all our corporate masters. Get used to it, they control the Democrats too!
-
Give doubledave a red star for that last post!
The only thing I can think of that could possibly be worse would be if he had a coronary and died and then we would have that fucking maniac Dick Cheney in the role of the "Unitary Executive" for the next 12 months. Then, I'm afraid, you really would see Blackwater assassinate the entire Congress and the media would jack off with delight.
-
Hereditary bottom-protecting, Bush-style
George Bush Sr. inoculated himself against possible impeachment by nominating that nitwit Dan "Mr. Potatoe-Head" Quayle for Veep. The son learned from dad's example and put Cheney in the second spot. Right, everybody?
-
Dude can't catch a break....
...just as soon as the situation in Iraq begins to improve (200K dead too late), the economy starts to seriously tank.
If he wasn't responsible for it -- and if 90% of it couldn't have been easily avoided -- I might actually feel sorry for the guy.
-
-like if it hits 25 percent, we bomb Iran.
No of course not. Foreign policy doesn't require Congressional consent like any domestic agenda. So if it hasn't happened yet like all of you have promised for the last 4 years, it's not going to.

How 'bout seeing if we can get *reporters* to talk about the issues
Here's a petition to sign intended to get *journalists* (such as the bug-eyed Tim) to ask questions about important issues, such as climate change. Timmie R. has asked candidates over 800+ questions and NOT ONE on the climate crisis:

I think we should register the rating in Celsius.
"0" sounds closer to the truth if you eliminate the lemmings who consider assault rifles necessary for deer hunting, diminished civil rights the norm, fear mongering acceptable, corporate american welfare O.K., nauseating numbers of americans in poverty, millions of uninsured americans, CEO's who don't know (or care) there once was a middle class, oil profiteering a daily happenstance, and a foreign and energy policy the three stooges could do a better job with, you'd pretty much end up with a zero approval with a plus/minus margin of error because I still think his mother, Babs, and maybe a brother and sister or two who still like him , sort-of...

Leadership and Bush - Oil and Water
Disapproval From The People Is leadership.
I am going to assume W.E.S. was being sarcastic, since lengthy massive dis-approval is not a sign of leadership; it is a sign of being an authoritative prick with no leadership capability. When your only justification for your decisions is the power of your position, you are the weakest form of leader. Give the dumbest dick in the land the authority to shoot people at whim and they will get a lot of people "following" their "leadership".
Leaders influence people and persuade people, get them on the same page, for fuks sake, they lead people to walk the walk with them, to work and sacrifice as necessary for a common cause. Bush has demonstrated he has ZERO capability to do those types of things.
