What Do You Expect
The Clintons are the masters of dirty politics and will do anything to get elected. They are deceitful, disingenuous, and fraudulent people. Obamais taking them on and it is sooooo refreshing!!!!!!!
-
Obama is a whiner
Maybe Obama shouldn't have been snorting cocaine. Anyone ever think of that? This is a presidential contest, and the Obama folks are practically making an artform out of playing the victim. Bill was attacked for his alleged marijuana use in his campaign. Obama wrote about his drug use in his book, then says it's off limits for anyone to talk about it. Not just that, but it's off limits to even subliminally refer to it. What exactly does he think is going to come if he wins the nomination?
-
Obama
What Johnson said was true. Obama put the drug use out there when he wrote about it in his book. This is not something the Clinton camp dug up. If it is OK for Obama to make money talking about his prior drug use, why is it not OK for people to discuss it. You better believe the republicans will bring it up.
Perhaps the money earned from his book is how he purchase that million dollar house with the help of Rezko (?).
-
Cut it out.
Seriously
-
Stop It Now
Both Hillary and Obama need to stop this petty bullshit and quickly. The electorate has had enough and are in no mood for this.
-
championship wrestling
It would be alot more refreshing, if Democrats took on the Republican turds who got the country in the mess it is and is now so in need of an overhaul. (Notice I did not use the word "change", the next politician to use the word change should be excorcised form the union as an enemy of the state. Who in their right mind except for the Bush 25 percenters would not want change) It would be even more refreshing if Obama, Hillary, or Edwards were able to make news by not sniping, then complaining about the other guys sniping.
When I want to see this type of bullshit, I'd rather turn to championship wrestling.
-
I am thouroughly sick of both of them.
If it's a choice between either of those whiny little fuckers or a Republican, I'll either write in my retriever or vote Republican. If it's going to be a fucked up 4 years, we may as well be able to lay it at the Republicans door.
-
Hillary probably has used drugs...
Hillary is from the Age of Aquarius. I remember that time, and I remember many young women Hillary's age who smoked pot, and more. They do not do it anymore. They are not eager to confess it, but they are not eager to condemn others for what they did in those days, either.
So-o-o... I honestly do not believe Hill and Bill want to make an issue of drugs. But they do not want to disrespect this guy who made the remark, their big time supporter and contributor. And Obama will drop it now, too. This is a dangerous issue for him. He has squeezed it as far as it can go.
-
Where Are the Adults?
The Clintons have complained loud and long that no one has scrutinized Obama's record as they have hers. I guess they don't want to waste time doing so either, as this current issue reflects. And never mind, apparently, an adult, detailed discussion and debate of the issues. The public deserves better than this even if the Clinton campaign disagrees.
-
Ridiculous
It is obvious that Johnson's remarks about Obama were and are totally irrelevant today.
Yes, Repubs will probably go after Obama for it later, if Obama wins the nomination. And it will be just as irrelevant then, and it will reflect badly upon them when they do it. Those who won't vote for Obama based on that info would never vote for him anyway.
Regardless of whether or not Clinton knew Johnson would say that, Clinton just recently made a big deal about how Obama's campaign isn't held to the same standard as hers when it comes to someone making stupid remarks. (Her example was about her relationship to the Bhutto assassination.) Granted Johnson is not on her campaign, but since she made a big deal out of it in the first place, the honorable and consistent thing for her to do is renounce the statement.
That said, Obama's campaign is making too big a deal out of Johnson's remarks. Except that, by making a big deal out of it, he benefits by exposing Clinton as a negative campaigner -- much as Huckabee is doing to Romney. So he's getting mileage out of this too.
This stupid episode is just not worthy of any further discussion.

Two weeks
Have we forgotten the incredible positive energy Obama's Iowa win generated? Hell, even Republican candidates like Romney were starting to fall all over themselves about the man his powerful message.
Now, after almost two weeks of being drawn into the muck with the Clintons, Obama's strengths are being overshadowed by these petty distractions.
I disagree with many of the posters on Salon; Obama is not to blame for the thinly veiled racist words continually thrown by Hillary, Bill, and their supporters. And anyone who tries to paint both campaigns with the same brush are simply not looking at the facts. Hell, even John Edwards, a man who stands to benefit greatly by this squabbling, has condemned the Clinton machine and defended Obama.

obama and drugs
i know he has admitted to marijuana and cocaine as a youth-- did he repent? admit he was stupid and wrong? warn others about it? i have to worry about the kids here.

The issue
Bill was attacked for his alleged marijuana use in his campaign.
No, he was attacked for his ridiculous "I didn't inhale" remark. Just as Johnson is now being assailed for making a comment that anyone in their right mind would have to recognize as being about drug use, but then back-pedaling to the absurd "Oh, I was talking about his community organizing activities" posture. Reread what Johnson said -- or better yet, listen to him: http://tpmelectioncentral.com/2008/01/bob_johnsons_neighborhood_line_the_video.php
It's a disgusting display. And given Bob Johnson's track record, it's fairly shameful that Clinton would invite him to speak, period, let alone be defending him now.
