community organizing
some one ought to ask Johnson what is so awful about being a community organizer that he can't bring himself to utter it instead of his reference to it as something he can't talk about.
The more HRC and her campaign open their mouths the more inclined I am to support Obama. I think Bill did a good job as president all things considered, but it is time for him to retire from politics.

As a liberal sort of independant
I'm still planning on happily voting for whomever is on the democratic side of the ticket (not that it would mean anything here in the great state of Texas)
If the Clinton people, and I include their attack dog surrogotes as "people", keep this crap up, I may change my mind. And others in swing states where their votes really matter may also. We don't have be strumming the guitar and singing kumbaya all the time but one of these folks is going to be the candidate and I don't want it to be one already damaged or thoroughly irritating to the electorate. Let the republicans do that for a change.

This pitiful country of ours
where no one can just be a human being.
The media, ALL media, assure that there will never be unity, only divisions to be exploited.
We actually enjoy and look forward to hating each other.

anouther liar
if you want to come out and make Obama admitting to drug use as a kid an issue, then at least have the HONOR as a person to come out and say it,not use vague referances when any fool knows what you mean, and then say you don't mean it.i am so tired of being lied to like i am some idiot.do these folks really think we are all that dumb?i guess they do...

On the Bright side
If Obama & Clinton destroy each other in the primaries, maybe the Democrats will have to settle for someone more progressive than either of them. I'd love a non-DLC candidate for a change. Maybe they'd have to go with Edwards....or, they could draft Russ Feingold.

Calling Adlai Stevenson
In 1952 the Dems beat each other brains in, split the ticket and lead the way to Ike's victory.
-
Cowardly and creepy
I would not be suprised to see a host of Democratic leaders not only endorse Obama but come right out and turn their backs on the Clintons. 2008 should have been a watershed year for the Democrats and a chance to shift the country away from the morrass is been in. Instead the cancer that is the Clintons have infected the primaries with their usual poison. The Democratic Party will not survive a Hillary Clinton nomination in tact.

Can't believe Clinton is using Johnson anyway
This is the guy who has made his $$$ by denigrating black women on national TV (Booty Every Time!). How exactly does that tie into Clinton being a force for women's rights?
-
Ugly
I'm a die-hard Hillary supporter, but this kind of stupid mud slinging is really turning me off. I'm sure the Republicans are loving it. All the camps in the Democratic primaries need to take the high road. They exploit sensitive racial and gender issues at their peril.

CLINTON DIRTY TRICKS
It is so sad that when the first viable woman to run for President has to become Lee Atwater to do so. There should be no place for dirty tricks in a contest to win the Presidency yet that it precisely what we are seeing now from the Clinton campaign. The not too subtle smears about past drug use, however, should have no impact on the voters since so many twice voted for George W. Bush despite his drug use record.
The real impact of the smear campaign, however, showed itself in the results of the NH primary. This was obvious when so many women voted for Hillary Clinton after having received a flyer and followup phone call from the Clinton campaign which distorted the pro-choice voting record of Barack Obama.

Bob Johnson: Now claims he did not inhale.....
First it was Hillary now it is Johnson ..
Whose next in line with good fireside news about drugs and colored folks..

Yup, Hillary Has Found Her Voice -- And It's Filled With Veiled Accusations and Innuendo
Just watching Hillary and Bill turn on the smear efforts, try to rewrite history about her craven war votes, follow the Karl Rove Playbook, and follow the Politics as Usual script makes it CLEAR that Obama is far better suited -- ethically, morally, and politically -- to leading the country into the future.
Hillary is proving herself to be just another scuzzy politician

I read the transcript...
Of Her Imperial Majesty on Meet the Press. It prompted me to send more money to Obama...
Cheney in a pantsuit, indeed. The hubris, disingenuousness and ambition are o'erweening and plain for all to see.

In his own words
In the words of Bill Clinton, "Give me a BREAK!"
Anyone who watched that slickster talk about Obama knows full well what he was talking about. To think otherwise would be to buy into a fairy tale.

A Little Bit of Drugs Use May Not Hurt in 2008
The great majority of Americans have personal experience with drugs, in their own families, among close friends, or on their own. Obama's story seems pretty normal. Obviously, he got over the drugs, did not sink into drug hell. He probably will gain votes for being honest.
I have this other question, though: What about all the right wingers who hate gays? Have they not known gay people? In 1960, homosexuality was secret. But in 2008, I cannot believe that Mr. Huckabee and his pals have not dealt with gays enough to realize gays are regular humans.

Is his drug use a barrier?
Why isn't there more discussion of Obama's past drug use? Why is this an untouchable story? The party line seems to be that mentioning drug use in the context of a black candidate is racist, but I can't for the life of me see why. Obama wasn't an inner city child pressured to use drugs by gangs. He was a middle class kid who snorted cocaine to avoid teenage angst. This was not standard behaviour among teenagers of his age (I was a teenager during that era, and travelled with fairly "adventurous" kids, and none of us ever used cocaine). At best, this can be an inspirational story of how he found focus in life and rejected the drug culture. But that's not how it's being played - instead the implication is that any mention of his drug use is racism. I don't like that. Drugs are not a "black" issue. They have nothing to do with race. To my knowledge, no president in U.S. history has admitted to using hard drugs before they were elected. Bush hasn't admitted it, even though it is widely recognized that he did so. How will this effect Obama in the election? How do American's feel about teenage drug use? Will this become an issue after the primaries?
If we don't discuss and dismiss this now, I guarantee that the Republicans will be bringing it up as a "character" issue during the presidential campaign. And I'm betting that nobody is going to buy the "but that's racist and you should ignore it" line when they do.
