Is it Sheehan or Shaheen?
There seems to be a mix-up in the name of the Clinton staffer who resigned. Shaheen is not the same as Sheehan! Please correct the title or the text, as appropriate. Thanks.

Obama Should've
Thrown his Bong at her onstage at the debate.
-
"Clinton herself reportedly apologized to Obama for Shaheen's remarks earlier today.
Then promptly leaked to reporters from the Washington Post Obama's intention to use White Rabbit as his official campaign song.
-
An apology after an insult is as worthless as a bucket of cold piss
The damage is done. It was premeditated malice.
Clinton's apology just gives the original insult a second life in the press.
-
Too late
How can a person who can't even control her campaign contol the country? Hillary=Bush.
-
You guys are as bad as the Republicans
Firing the staffer and making an apology was the right thing to do. Yet even when Hillary does the right thing, all you people can do is lob stone at her.
Knee-jerk much?

Oldest trick
Well, this is one of the oldest tricks in the campaign book. Let a highly-placed, credible staff member plant a vicious idea in the public's mind about an opponent. Leave it alone so it's fully reported and gets "out there" for a day or so. Then fire the staffer and make a half-hearted apology, keeping the story alive for another day or so.
Research has shown that people REMEMBER negative information and forget positive information. So Obama has been Swiftboated by the Clinton campaign and now they're trying to do the "Who me? I would never do that?" routine to make sure the story stays in the news long enough for the negative information to stick.
It's not like this is a new way to run campaigns. It's just the same, tired old tricks that we're all so sick of ...
Yeah, and the "nicer" the source, the more powerful the effect. If you're Mike Huckabee, you don't even have to sacrifice a staffer to do this. Huckabee just did it to Romney with his Jesus and Lucifer remark. In case anyone in the country DIDN'T know that Mormons believe that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers, well, now they do. And Huckabee can just smile and say "Gosh, I don't know how I did that? I just didn't realize how every word I say would get blown up in the press..." What planet has he been living on?

You miss the all important point
American voters are as dumb as a box of breast implants. They will believe anything you tell them. I talk to Jesus. My opponent smokes crack with Lex Luthor.

Anon 02:22 PM
That was freakin' hilarious! :-D
And spot-on, to boot. Thank you!

@ Dana Runs
"Firing the staffer and making an apology was the right thing to do. Yet even when Hillary does the right thing, all you people can do is lob stone at her."
You are the exact form of sheep that the Clinton campaign is counting on for this dirty trick to work.
In fact, this is the only way that the Clinton campaign can credibly get this slander into the pages of every publication. They did it just a few days ago when they "fired" a campaign staffer for calling Obama a Muslim terrorist.
Wake up and rub the bullsh^t out of your eyes, please!
-
Damn straight!
As soon as I head about this I went straight to Obama's site and donated 200 buckaroos. The last time I gave to anyone was 25 dollars to 1996 Clinton... maybe I gave 20 or so to Gore.
At any rate, this lit a fire under me.
-
Awesome
the wheels are off...Hillary is finished; which is good because (repeat after me)
SHE
CAN'T
WIN
-
But he did the the job, didn't he?
Matthews of Hardballs just made the point that even the leaving and the apology a part of a pattern long known in dirty politics.
amd that all it takes is just a whisper to start an avalanche .... Now the big mouths over at the F** channel carry it even further: Faux is now reporting that through their 'Democratic sources' probably DICK Morris or Lieberman, "Faux has 'learned that it was African-American Clinton supporters who called Clinton to complain about the drug story."
Apparently from the Faux perspective it's no big deal since no whites were injured in that story????
However I wouldn't be surprised if Murdoch and Clinton don't have a relationship of 'some' kind we don't yet know about.

Shaheen resigns....
The Clinton NH Coordinator, Mr. Shaheen, is married to former NH governor Jean Shaheen who is running for US Senator of NH with the Clinton's help. So you can count on the fact he will be rehired to the Clinton campaign at some point in the near future. This is an old ploy out of the republican political play books for swiftboating. I am surprised that Bill Clinton, who has been a victim to these plays, is allowing his wife to stoop so low. I guess she is the leader of her campaign and it proves she is not the type of leader we need for our country.
The fact that she has republican campaign strategist, Mark Penn, in charge of her campaign may have alot to do with her choice to personnally attack her fellow democrats. Afterall, one of the key accounts with Mark Penn's firm is private contractor Blackwater. I don't think there will be much change with a Hillary Clinton presidency.

double-standard much?
"Firing the staffer and making an apology was the right thing to do. Yet even when Hillary does the right thing, all you people can do is lob stone at her.
Knee-jerk much?"
Oh, please! They set out to do damage, did it, and a staffer resigns. Sounds like a pre-meditated scapegoat to me. It's the ONLY way she can get away with flinging dirt. We understood this when Bush did it to his rivals. But it's a stretch now? Tell me, were you this generous with GWB when his people hinted that McCain had a black baby & had orgies with his captors? I doubt it. But I'm sure Bush distanced himself just as 'nobly' as did Hillary. It's called being disingenuous with a purpose.
It's her campaign, she's responsible. A 'oops, sorry!' means nothing. It just means she's sneaky, & sends others to do her dirty work, then cuts them. I wonder what bonuses the poor staffer has received?
