I was kinda hoping Obama would be AGAINST staying in Iraq indefinitely....
Hillary looked petty when she interrupted - and Barack looked vicious when he replied. It made me feel very uneasy about his level of maturity. Would he snap at foreign leaders like that when he's supposed to be diplomatic? All in all, not good, very ugly.
THAT was vicious? Jeez that was far less vicious than the inscriptions I put in Christmas cards.
Wow. Obama scores a hit on his own without just patiently waiting for Clinton to botch another attack on him.
There you have it in a nutshell, sports fans.
Yes, it will be a relief to be rid of George W. Bush and his entire Texas misfitmafia; yes it will seem refreshing to consign theocratic, neoconservative exceptionalism to the dunce corner, where it belongs.
But don't any one go looking for real, substantive change, no matter whether it's Clinton, Obama, or Edwards with their hand on the Bible come January 2009.
By then, we'll own the world's largest embassy in Baghdad and half a dozen shiny new military bases throughout the rest of Iraq.
The troops won't be home for Christmas any year soon.
Seriously, Hillary looked a little like George Costanza there. Oh yeah, well the jerk store called. They're running outta you!
Still, at least both Clinton and Obama tried to be a little humerous. Please, I don't want to hear Dodd tell any more jokes!!! Yeeesh
In light of the attacks Obama has had to endure from the Clinton camp (not associate with Hillary herself, or course), I thought this was a pretty restrained and clever comeback.
It made me chuckle anyway.
Does Clinton ever call Obama, "Barack?"
I don't watch these things.
Ha ha ha ha. The only person who would question Barack Obama's maturity based a single riposte during a debate would be someone already predisposed to find fault with him. Say, someone determined to plant a "Barack Obama is too immature to be president" meme in the meme-pool?
The main issue here is if you are going to bring new and fresh ideas and not going to relive the 90's, why are all your top advisors from the 1990's clinton administration?
the better question is why so many former bill clinton administration staffers would rather work with barack than hillary!
and i loved the zinger. that's what she gets for not being polite ...

The best part about this is that Obama's answer was really good. What could she say to that? It's one of those things that just stops this kind of stuff in its tracks. If she says, "Not on my life, I won't work for you," then she sounds snitty and unpatriotic. If she says, "How nice..." Well, you get the idea. There is no good answer to this except to shut up and move on.
Way to go, Barack! Keep the inanity to a minimum.
Don't confuse the Clinton administration's successful foreign policy with the domestic culture war that raged in the 1990s. It is the domestic scandal and infighting that we don't want a repeat of. By contrast, our image abroad was quite good--certainly better than that of previous and subsequent administrations.
It is only natural that Obama would want experience in forming his own foreign policy agenda; where else would he draw from except ex-Clinton staffers? Otherwise he'd have to go back to the Carter administration to get Dems experienced at the Executive level.
For me the fact that so many former Clinton staffers are opting to advise Obama instead of HRC speaks volumes, no?

I love how people supporting Obama skip over his obvious "Washington speak".
There is no way you can change Washington, and bring new and fresh approach; with the same old Clinton people.
I generally support the same old clinton people.
That's why I'm supporting Hillary Clinton.
i'm dedicate my blog to supporting her and my own ideas.

I wish they would pay me, but they don't.
I think Obama would have a problem NOT going back to the 90's if he needed to fill a whole administration with experienced, competent staff. For better or worse, the Democrats with experience running the federal government are either from the Clinton administration or the Carter administration (I doubt there's anyone from the Johnson administration left alive). I think this is the reason that the party establishment is so hot for Hillary to be the candidate - it's full of people who owe their entire careers to Bill.
BTW, I think the most likely scenario for Obama becoming the nominee is if he pulls off an upset in Iowa and New Hampshire, and Edwards decides to drop out of the race and throws his support behind Obama. I know the Edwards people are going to get all over my case because I'm counting Edwards out - so just to be fair, I'll say that Edwards' best shot would be to win Iowa and South Carolina, and then Obama drops out and throws his support behind Edwards. I think the way to beat Hillary is if one of the other frontrunners drop out, because between the two of them they split the anti-Hillary vote. In particular, it's hard to imagine ex-Edwards supporters becoming Hillary supporters except as a last resort...
Lately, Hillary looks beatable for the first time, but I think everything has to cut the right way (or the wrong way, depending on your perspective). It's always very hard to dislodge the party favorite, but Obama looks like he just might be able to do it. (Sorry, Edwards people - at this point, Edwards looks like a dark horse to me.)
With all the weighty and incredibly important things at stake in this campaign, this is what you're all on about?
Keep your eye on the ball, folks.
Iraq
Middle-East policy
World trade
World diplomacy
National defense
China
Nuclear proliferation
AIDS
Education
Healthcare
Civil rights
Supreme Court appointments
National debt
Weakening greenback
Weak economy
Diminishing middle-class
Crumbling infrastructure
Social Security
Job flight
Mortgage crisis
National emergency response
...and you and War Room are babbling on about who got the better zinger.
Is this not proof that America has the government it deserves?
