What Bush knew, Take 5

"The president could have been more precise in that language."

The letters thread is now closed.

Gold star

two things:

1) Identify that reporter, if you can, and give him (Ed?) a gold star.

2) The Prez has been using this language about not wanting Iran to gain the "knowledge" to make a nuclear weapon. Does he really mean "knowledge" or is this code for something else? I was under the impression that the knowledge is readily available on the net. I presume the Iranians have internet access.

Take A Trip Back In Time

When reporters actually asked some interesting questions and followed up on the responses, or lack of response.

Of course, this guy will be canned from the White House press beat tomorrow.

Ed Henry?

I'm guessing it was CNN's Ed Henry.

Thursday, December 6, 2007 12:23 PM

Does this mean hypotheticals are back on the table?

Like Iran's hypothetical weapons are more of a threat than Iraq's hypothetical weapons were?

The reply about Cheney being in the meeting, but not the President, being nothing unusual seemed strangely, in my mind at least, tied to the preceding hypothetical question (preemptive shot?), "Did the president pressure the intelligence community? Did he meddle in the intelligence?" Well, isn't that why Cheney was there?

Somebody, sign Perino to the Senators. Don't know if she can hit, but she is all over the field.

It's a sad day

It's a sad day when the press secretary shows relief when the questions turn back to Iraq, with a 'Q'.

Squash

When the sabre-rattling started, Bush said that we had to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. This nonsense about preventing them from getting the "knowledge" to get nuclear weapons started more recently -- probably around the time that Bush learned about the content of this NIE. Moving the goalposts, you see.

How deep is the hole they're digging?

It looks pretty big from here. Unfreakinbelievable. I don't have my hopes up, though, despite the reporter's excellent line of questioning. Every time this administration screws up I say, "This is it- this is what will enrage the American public and the Bushies will be stopped" and every time I'm sadly disappointed. I just don't trust the MSM to do anything about the constant lies being spewed from the White House.

"Who's on first?"

"What?"

"What's on second."

And so on...

Bird calls of the Flushfaced Hogwash....

Dana Perino: Flibbidy, dibbidy, jibbidy, blah....

Reporter: Excuse me, you are making no sense whatsoever

Dana Perino: Floppity, floopity plooopity flick.

Reporter: Ms. Perino, we are trying to get to the bottom of this obviously transparent lie.

Dana Perino: Flixaty, waxity booblebry pifflinicker.

Reporter: But we have evidence.

Dana Perino: Shevadence, mevadence weebleness wop.

Reporter: Ok. Fine how about Iraq?

Dana Perino: Iraq?

Reporter: Iraq with a Q

Dana Perino: OK

What an exchange...

I agree with Squash: gold stars all around. A proud day for the press corps and a happy day in the War Room.

Oh my goodness

What these poor Bushies go though. All she wants is to turn her White House contacts into a six figure income. Hope someone gives her some hip waders for Christmas, she needs them.

Her cable career is calling.

I think it's the Discovery Channel that has a program featuring the world's dirtiest jobs. Time to book this poor sweaty girl on it.

No incentives for Dubya to change!

So whats the difference? Nobody in Washington has ever held Dubya Bush to his word or held him or Cheney to any standards of law or truth.Bush lied to instigate his Iraq Oil War and he keeps on lying but he luckily suffers no penalties because Congress keeps approving and funding his various "War Crimes"! So wheres the incentive for Bush to behave in any other manner?

You know the White House blew it when ...

... Fox News runs a story with the headline "Bush Administration Credibility Suffers After Iran NIE Report".

If any republican in the future ever mentions impeachment of a president...

...my head will explode.

Thursday, December 6, 2007 07:32 PM

Wow! I'm qualified to a Presidential Spokesman!

My wife says I'm just a blathering idiot. Know we know I meet the prerequisites to be White House material! Thanks guys, you've made my day.

Technically....

Georgejr has NEVER said that Iran or Iraq has (or had) nuclear weapons. Technically, his warnings have been in relation to their desire for "nuculer" weapons. The definition of nuculer has never been defined.

Thursday, December 6, 2007 10:43 PM

Ahem...

Few people are mentioning that Seymour Hersh wrote about this NIE a YEAR ago. Not in a letter, but in the New Yorker. The point is August is probably a lie. He knew at least the outline 10-12 months ago. If he didn't he has a big problem, because he is president in name only. Because I knew about it before he did.

I can build a nuke!

Squash and others are exactly right, but no one in the media is paying attention. I, and everyone else, have the knowledge (OK, everyone else except that idiot in the White House) to build a nuculer duveise. It's available to anyone with access to the Net or a decent sized library.

What I don't have is the technology or the hardware. But, I'm putting in a call to Mr. Putin to sell me some of that stuff on credit. I'm sure he'll get right back to me.

After all, it's my Second Amendment right, right? And no one will bother me because I don't have any oil other than what is in my car engine.

"When nukes are banned, only right wing fascists states will have them."

I'm surprised the Clinton campaign

didn't come to Perino's defense saying that a room full of male reporters gender bashed the pert little air head. Perino, like Clinton, has to be able to take the heat. In Perino's case, having some, any, information from the W.H. that would have been relevant to the obvious questions that would be lobbed would have helped. I guess Cheney needed a laugh and sent her out to the normally passive WHPC w/o any clothes on yesterday. He probably needed something to get his heart pumping again, at least for a day...
