Because this verbatim expose' says more about the American public who put this underachieving, illiterate, misanthropic excuse for a leader in office.
"I don't wanna opine on it."......Will the World Court at the Hague please stipulate differently?
The old commercial refrain...."You asked for it, you got it, Toyota!"
Whoever believes this man is fit to be dog cathcher is morally and intellectually deficient.
3 years from now Hillary will be being blamed for the mess this dipshit has created. And the media will be all over that like flies on shit. She'll be impeached before her 1st term is over.
Mark my words.
"won't it just be nice to have a president in the white house who speaks fluent english, for crissakes?!"
At this point, who cares (besides Tancredo) whether he or she speaks English? Hell, fluent Swahili would be a vast improvement over what we've got now!
Everyone I've ever met who attended Harvard makes it a point to go out of their way in conversation to let you know right away that they did, in fact, attend Harvard. My response over the past few years has been, "Yeah. So did George W. Bush". Not impressed.
And only a fucking simpleton would say something like this:
"I would tell you what I think, uh, these candidates don't really understand is how complex the environment is inside the Oval Office...I think it's impossible for anybody to fully comprehend, you know, how much incoming there is into the Oval Office, and therefore it's important, to have a very orderly ... disciplined process, that enables people to come in and give you their opinion, in a timely fashion, so that there's enough data available for the president to deal with the problems in the world."
Yep. Bush's record over the past 7 years clearly shows all he can really comprehend, and just barely at that, is the complexity of washing his hands with a bar of soap.
"these candidates don't really understand is how complex the environment is inside the Oval Office"
That's okay....I feel okay with them learning that once they get in there, just like most other presidents. At any rate, it's a higher level of comfort than I had when George was taking office 7 years ago. What worries me more is that the current president doesn't understand how complex the environment is outside the Oval Office. He still seems to think climate change is either 1) a fantasy of the left, 2) not that big of a deal, or 3) not his/our problem.
Furthermore, in regards to the international relations "climate," George still thinks you can bring peace and democracy to people by bombing the their country to hell.
As I struggled to get my Master's Degree from a high Barron's-ranked university some 20 years ago now, I thought, "wow, if this is so hard for me I can't imagine what it must be like to have the brains to get into Harvard or Yale and complete the course work. The people who graduate from there must be a hell of a lot better students and a lot brighter than I am."
But now we learn that it's not merit, it's just money. He got tapped for Skull and Bones too. Nobody pays much attention to that frat boy stuff, but none the less, those who get the nod are those whose academic achievements indicate that they will some day be notable high achievers in life. I guess that's out the window too. Bush got tapped because of his last name.
And then I read some first-hand accounts that some of his classmates recall about his lack of manners and slovenly behavior such as dipping Copenhagen tobacco and spitting in a cup during lectures, acting like a clown in a class full of people who worked hard to get into a prestigious university, and turning in papers that were ludicrously sub-par, but never asked to leave.
And yet this phenomenal creature, who would have sunk to the level of his talent and intellect as (no disrespect to these occupations intended) a used-car salesman or a Burger King manager, is now almost finished with his second term as President of the United States. It boggles the mind.
And finally, as you alluded jhudson2, Bush's seats at Yale and Harvard meant that someone of better qualification was bumped down and off the list. Somebody didn't get in to Yale and Harvard because Bush took the slot. What an injustice, what a waste.
I watched the interview and had to leave the room. I can't stand it, watching the president of my country babbling like that. And to think of him sitting behind the desk, ready to make his predetermined "sound decision" based on a set of undeviating (or should that be deviant) principles that are so firmly in place that no amount of evidence, fact, truth, or resulting consequence will have any impact on the decision making process.
"I have my principles in place, and my decision is that we're going to get in the car and drive due west, and we're going to keep driving west, forever if we have to, until we reach the South Pole."
"But Mr. President—"
"Ha bup bup bup bup! What did I say?"
I think Junior is letting his articulation and coherence fall to new lows to lay the foundation for his for his future claims that he's incompetent to stand trial.
But I could be wrong, of course.
I've always contended that Bush's incoherent and incompetence actually reflected poorly on the schools he attended.
The Administrators of Harvard & Yale who admitted and passed Junior ought to be ashamed of themselves. These are supposedly the most prestigious institutions in this country? What a joke. Apparently they're really just diploma mills for the well-off.
Even more galling is Bush and his crowd decrying affirmative action, when clearly the real failures of affirmative action occur when incompetent lazy rich kids take slots that should be held open for competent and capable underprivileged kids.
won't it just be nice to have a president in the white house who speaks fluent english, for crissakes?! good lord, i wish the election were tomorrow.
