The campaign ad we'd like to see

Larry Flynt calls Dennis Kucinich "essential, viable and exciting."

@MYSTAI

Mystai -- I like Kucinich. I will even vote for him if he's still in the running by the time my state's caucus rolls around. So as a fellow supporter, I implore you.

Please, no more pro-Kucinich posts in all caps. It makes you look like an idiot, so much that I had to stop and ask myself if I really want to support the same candidate as you.

Turn off the caps lock and write like a sane person.

"Wholesome"?

My goodness are we not getting prissy here at Salon? I can remember back when Salon had a Sex section with pornography as graphic, if in better taste, than Larry's.

Sorry, from Barbed

The article you mentioned from 11/7 was great; in fact one of the few I have seen that sums up the marginalization of those who think impeachment should be at the top of the national agenda.

I would love to see more. Hardly anyone else is taking it seriously.

My humble apologies,

A Salon Article I'd Like to See

How about covering Kucinich's HR 333 to impeach Dich Cheney and the Democrat's wimpy response? Why is impeachment off the table and why won't a supposedly progressive magazine like Salon go near it?

As another poster pointed out, Kucunich is also the only major candidate to have voted against the Patriot Act and the Iraq war. You're ignoring the elephants that Kucinich is pointing to and instead making a lame joke about his endorsement by Larry Flynt. I guess I have to go someplace else for any real insight into Kucinich and the impeachment movement.

Following up

a.maclaggan,

I've written about Rep. Kucinich's impeachment efforts several times, mostly recently here:

DENNIS KUCINICH

DENNIS KUCINICH IS MY CONGRESSMAN AND I GO WAY BACK WITH HIM TO THE TIME HE RAN FOR COUNCIL AT 21 YEARS OLD, WINNING BY SHEER FORCE OF WILL, AS HE WALKED THE WARD KNOCKING ON THE DOOR OF EVERY CONSTITUENT AT LEAST ONCE, SOME MANY TIMES. WHATEVER ONE THINKS OF HIM, HE IS UNIQUE. FOR EXAMPLE, I DOUBT YOU'LL FIND ANOTHER POL WHOSE FAMILY LIVED IN THEIR CAR FOR EXTENDED PERIODS WHEN GROWING UP. HIS UPBRINGING, WHICH WAS COLORED SO EXTENSIVELY BY HIS ETHNICITY (WITH, AMONG OTHER THINGS, ITS CONCOMITANT SUPER-CATHOLICISM); HIS SMALL STATURE; BOUNDLESS ENERGY AND FOCUS HAVE MADE HIM AN UNLIKELY MIX OF FEISTY WON'T-BACK-DOWN TRUE BELIEVER AND OPPORTUNIST AND THESE FORCES ARE WHAT DRIVE HIM. HE'S AN INTELLIGENT GUY AND KNOWS, OF COURSE, HE CAN NEVER BE PRESIDENT BUT HE HAS TO KEEP THINKING HE CAN IN A HEROIC EXAMPLE OF COGNITIVE DISSONANCE. THE TRUE BELIEVER DOESN'T CARE THAT IT CAN MAKE HIM LOOK FOOLISH WHILE THE OPPORTUNIST SEES IT AS A CHANCE TO BE A SOMEBODY WHO RUBS ELBOWS WITH THE REAL MOVERS AND SHAKERS AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE. HE WILL EASILY WIN HIS RE-ELECTION DESPITE THAT MANY, EVEN MOST, VOTERS IN HIS DISTRICT WOULD DISAGREE WITH MANY OF HIS VIEWS. THEY CHOOSE TO SEE THE FEISTY TRUE BELIEVER AND IGNORE THE OPPORTUNIST. AND I PLAN TO DO SO AGAIN TOO.

...and a topic I'd like to see:

OK, fine, interesting and amusing. Larry Flynt endorses Kucinich. Cool.

What I'd like to know is why War Room has time for this titillating but rather irrelevant post when it hasn't published anything about HR 333, Kucinich's articles of impeachment against the VP? I mean, surely it's newsworthy. Say whatever you want about it - but cover the story War Room!

Or tell me I am wrong, please, somehow I missed it.

Before we get too snide

let's remember some things about these two. Kucinich is the only candidate for the Democratic nomination who voted against the Patriot Act ("because I read it"), against the war authorization and against the Military Commissions Act. He has, however, introduced articles of impeachment. Sissies don't do that.

And speaking of impeachment, just as the Republicans were preparing to impeach the last President, Larry Flynt brought down two successive Republican Speakers of the House, Newt Ginrich and Bob Livingston.

Flynt for president

I wish he would run for the republican nomination again, I would love to see him up there next to Mitt Romney. Then again, the republicans would probably have him shot again.

If they really wanted funny

they'd just show Huckabee raising his hand to say he didn't believe in evolution. And this guy is a "serious" candidate for president in the year 2007. BAHAHAHAHA!
