Rove is Right (wing)
Of course Rove is right. He's a ruthless politico, a win-at-all-costs political operator. He understands that politics is a bloodsport. He may be on the wrong side of the aisle, but he certainly knows squandered opportunities when he sees them.
About the only Democrat who seems to get that (unfortunately) is Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) -- he swings hard at the GOP whenever he gets the chance. I don't agree with most of Emanuel's stances on issues, but there's no doubt that he's a fighter, and I wish we had more fighters among the Democrats.
I wish they'd boot all of their campaign advisors and DLC quislings from their ranks, and actually fight for working- and middle-class Americans.
The thing I worry most about in 2008, assuming the Democrats win, is they'll try to push for an accommodationist "return to normalcy." (e.g., status quo), while the GOP will continue playing hardball. That can't stand. The Dems (or a real progressive party) need to go on offense, and quit playing defense.
