Letters to the Editor

"Democrats had a moment after the 2006 election, but now that moment has passed."
  • actually, the moment passed long before 2006

It has been one year since Democrats gained control of the Congress. Our expectations for the immediate change were probably mistaken. Let's not give up hope just because the change we want is not happening overnight.

Actually, I started giving up hope about 2 months into the Bush regime, when it became clear even then the democrats weren't going to lift a pinky (except for occasional showbiz, I mean, political posturing) to stand up against these crooks. 2007 has been the capper on an already miserable excuse for a congress. Now, with a few notable exceptions (Mr. Kucinich, Mr. Waxman...) they don't even bother with the posturing.
