Why show up?
What if the news media simply stopped covering the Bush administration's press "opportunities" - briefings, press conferences, photo ops? Wouldn't we get more substantial and accurate information from other sources? Hell, just making up one's own news stories would have as much validity as their made-up ones; and probably more relavence.
