Fox is the work of al Qaida

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 09:01 AM

Fox is God's plague upon the body politic...

I think Jerry Falwell said that.

Power lines sparked the fires in CA.

Fox News reported that little bit of info. If al-Qaida owns the California Power Company, They might be on to something.

Only One Choice Then

Lets invade California. I know, theres no troops left to do this with, but we have the GOP militia right? Just buzz uber-patriot Erik Prince and have him whip up a couple of battalions of right thinkers and we can use these fires as a pretext to root out those un-American southern Californians Glen Beck pointed out while on a futile search for al-Qaida.

I wish Salon would bomb Iran

They've been promising it for longer than the Korean War took.

Well, no wonder!

Y'all have to realize which PART of California we're talking about. This is San Diego, the area that elected a Republican congressman after the incumbent Republican congressman Duke Cunningham went to JAIL for BRIBERY only because most residents over there hate illegal immigrants. So, if that area burns, to Fox News it must be the work of al Qaeda.

Now, if Berkeley or San Francisco were burning, why, that'd be God's wrath to punish the godless homosexual liberals. What else?

God, like al Qaeda, is very aware of the regional nuances of Californian politics.

Angry god=al-Qaida

How do so-called christians hold these contradictory concepts in their minds - al-Qaida is the instrument of an angry God, but al-Qaida is "evil"? Jerry Falwell said it, and that idea seems to have gained traction with the christianists. I always thought "evil" was supposed to be the purview of Satan.

Deja Vu: Greece

This is the same script as the fires in Greece earlier this year.

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 09:26 AM

and God said: "Let there be light"...

and those zany al-Qaida nasties took her literally. Crazed terrorists ignighting a Republican stronghold to even the score with Bushit for devistating their ultimate goal to get everyone to hate our freedoms. It all makes sense to me now, somehow...

Who Really Started the California Fires?

Heck, that's easy.

Blackwater USA operatives, that's who.

They're pissed because there's a holdup on their getting their hands on a bunch of land around there.

Jon Stewart's job security

Just when I thought the idiocy of cable news channels (especialy Fox) couldn't get any worse...

@judyinnm

The only contradictions are the inherent, wonderful mysteries of God. God can use the forces of evil (because he's all-powerful) to exact justice here on earth. Because God's got it like that.

What pisses me off is the nature of the headlines at the bottom of the screen--and Fox News isn't the only one guilty of this. Shocking headline "FBI: Al Qaeda Detainee Spoke of Fire Plot," and then no one pays attention to what's actually being said that discredits the headline.

The purpose of watching the news should be to get factual information. But factual information tends to be more nuanced, doesn't make for a good headline and doesn't bring in the ratings.

@mizbinkley

nuanced news doesn't cut it in America.

"Paris Hilton gets drunk, tatooed, and jailed" = headlines on front page and all network/cabel news...Democrats blamed for dull color usage on tatoo.

"President lies country into war" = page 16 under story of dustcropping failure at county level.

Democrats seen as siding with enemy. Republicans demand an apology and retraction of all coveage.

Now that's America!

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 09:49 AM

@mizbinkley

Now I understand - kinda like we have to become LIKE our "evil emenies", to defeat them....

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 09:51 AM

No it's true but it get's worser!!!

I heard they were also illegal immigrants and all of them have donated to Hillary's campaign!

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 09:51 AM

sic

make that "evil enemies"

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 09:58 AM

Stopping the terrorists.

I remember packing what I could not live without, and putting it into the trunk of a car along with the rest of my family's could not live without items, as an intense firestorm burned down thousands of homes in Berkeley and Oakland 15 years ago. From the deck of our house, you could feel the heat of the flames on your face. The wind shifted, and our house was spared. But many of my friends and thousands of others lost everything. I preface my personal story to as a point of empathy to the thousands in Southern California who are in a similar situation.

While there are certainly a number of possibilities of causes of the fires, I'm sure that Al Queda is not one of them. The FOX propaganda network continues to behave in a most irresponsible manner. These fires, as with all disasters are very difficult for the people who are impacted. Adding to the sorrow and confusion with baseless fantasies is disgusting.

I suggest to any that are approached by a FOX news crew trying to fill out their 24 hour 'news' hysteria cycle, to take the camera off them, and chuck it into the street. Let's fight terrorism together!

Politicizing disasters

America's new MSM sport!

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 10:22 AM

Obviously it was Ann...

The first fires were in Malibu, so obviously Ann Coulter, who has said, basically, that she'd like to see all those Hollywood libs fall into the Pacific, got out her Bic and torched some tumbleweed. Wet with joy, she then continued her destructive path on a quest to rid the US of California and all its evil progressive ways. Isn't she called a conservative firebrand?

Hmm...something to think about

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 10:27 AM

al-Qaida ate my homework

"Angry god=al-Qaida"

Jesus probably looked alot like Osama. I know any conservative christian would tell you that Jesus most defintely looked like Jeffrey Hunter, but you know he really looked like "you know who."

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 10:40 AM

@tilda

I think you're on to something - could be that the conservatives have begun "fighting back" (fighting fire with fire, so to speak).

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 10:52 AM

al-Qaida's not claiming credit. So how terrifying can it be?

If al-Qaida's goal is to strike terror in our hearts by lighting wildfires in the US, then why haven't they claimed credit for it?

It would seem to be a foolish risk on their part, to stage operatives inside the US to light these fires and risk early detection, in order to get... what exactly? All the people evacuating from their homes and all the firefighters think they're battling a natural disaster. It's terrifying, yes, but not likely to induce anyone to give in to al-Qaida demands.

If Fox News would have us believe they're that stupid, then I'm not going to worry much.

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 10:55 AM

It's what I'd do

I don't for a second believe that Fox has discovered a secret Al Qaida link to the fires in SoCal, but that's exactly the type of disruption I'd try to do if I were trying to bring the US to its knees.
