No comparison
This is definitely making a mountain out of a molehill.
There is no comparison between the endorsement of one political candidate in the run-up to primary elections by a representative of an interested minority, and winning the internationally recognized, coveted Nobel Peace Prize.
If Hillary knocks Al Gore's peace prize off the front page or out of the news cycle, then the media is even more asinine than we feared. And if Hillary actually PLANNED something of this relatively minor significance THINKING she would knock Al out of the headlines, then she is way too dumb to be running for national office.
Sometimes, things really are coincidental because the world keeps worlding on, no matter what. Just like there are happy events that happen, even in the face of so much tragedy in the Middle East. It's not all a big plot. It's just life.

Wrong reasons
I found Lewis' answers to the qusitons all the wrong reasons for endorsing Clinton... (Bill can sign everyword to a song?)
His endoresment sounds like an endoresment for Bill not Hillary. His reason sounds exaclty like why 2 of our frends are voting for Hillary..They will get Bill. This reasoning is so sexist. I anyone voting for her? Or is everyine just voting to get Bill back?
Frankly I doubt his endoresment is a blow at all.
Most of the Democrats I know, over 60, "Kennedy kids",
are voting for Obama.

I just lost some respect for Lewis
He always seemed to know what was up -- what was best for America and the progressive movement. The only reason he would endorse Clinton is to attempt to secure more pull when she gets elected, which is not a good enough reason from my point of view. Clinton has shown that she will take the side of corporations over the middle and lower classes with her healthcare and retirement plans, and that would seem to be in direct opposition to Lewis' life battle.
(Not to say Obama has shown us he'd be any different -- he hasn't shown us much at all. But Lewis could have just held on to his endorsement.)

Mr Lewis
Mr Lewis is NOT free to endorse whoever he so chooses. He is free to shut up and endorse whomever donates to his has-been, sugar-coated ass. That would be the Clintons. Look, I love Bill Clinton and I am willing to admit I don't hate his wife despite the fact that she is Joe Lieberman. And I am all for winning.. I would vote for Ms Clinton in a heartbeat if I had no other choice. We do need to stop the bastards.
Nonetheless, in the past few decades Lewis, who should be respected regarding his momentum in non-violence in the Civil rights movement(s)..... has become nothing more than a political operative paid off by his handlers in the democratic national committee. And not that there is anything wrong with that, whatsoever.
In short: anyone who jabbers on about Bill Clinton being a 'brother' has clearly passed their respective expiration dates. The man's faculties are corrupted. He badly needs to rest his jaws (although his brains seem to have made a space for preemptive sleep). I don't want to disrespect anyone, but: why don't we ALL just go vote for someone who may or may not expand the war into Iran?

Hillary not more experienced
I just don't get those comments tht Hillary has the 'world" expererince to lead us. Hillary has no more exerince than Obama. She is only in her second term in the Senate. She held no public office before then and her experience living with Bill does NOT count, nor does Bill count. Granted I loved bill Clinton, and thought he ws a great prsident, but Hillary is NOT bill. I will support her if she gets the nomnation because she will be a much better leader than any R running now.
Yes, Obmama has only been in the U.S. Senate for one term, but he was a IL state Senate for 8 years and envolved in local politics before that. He has good foreign policy plans and excellent foreign policy advisors. He can bring the nation together as he is not divisive.
To assume all black voters are going to vote for Obmama because he is black or not becsue he is not balck enough, or that all women voters for HIllary is both racist and sexist.
This white woman is voting for Obama. I'm voting for him because I htink he is the best person to lead us, he ahs ideas for REALchnge, and he has the best chance of winning.

African American Support is not Limited to the color of one's Skin
Why should an edorsement from any African American official for anyone but senator Obama be considered a blow to Senator Obama? African Americans like any American have the right to exercise the right to vote for any candidate and endorse any candidate of their choice. If the teaching of Dr. King was to build a color-blind society, then such thinking sets this nations years away from achieving that goal.

Bravo, to John Lewis, and....Hillary
The stupidity of Grieve's hit piece on Hillary, makes me support her candidacy all the more. The more I see all the vicious and thoughtless gossip about this lady, the more I admire her and support her efforts to win the White House. What has she done wrong, that all other politicians have not done, that justifies the constant barrage of adolescent garbage being said against her. The incredible insolence of one of the posts here, that would rather make John Lewis out to be a misguided fool, than accept the simple possibilty that the writer of the post, was wrong in all her judgments about Hillary, is amazing. I'm overwhelmed with respect, for the strength of character and independence of judgment, and wisdom, exhibited by John Lewis, who was "expected" to support Obama. John Lewis is the hero here, not Hillary.
