  • This just disgusts me.

It amazes me that the people who have perpetrated this are still walking free. Don't they usually lock psychopaths up?

  • Secret justice.

Justice Department issued "another opinion, this one in secret".....

Justice in secret is not justice, it is a conspiracy.

  • Impeach

What high crimes and misdemeanors would it take to impeach these people? What do they have to do to get Congress to notice that they are working AGAINST everything this proud nation once stood FOR?

Do you think it would help if a group of interns committed the ultimate sacrifice for their country and gave Cheney a blow job?

  • This deafening silence about outrageous things

Remember what is always said about frogs and hot water? If you dropped a frog into really hot water, it would immediately hop out as fast as it could -- but if you put the same frog in a pot of cold water, and SLOWLY heated it, the frog would stay put -- dying without a croak of complaint.

Well, that latter situation is an excellent model for this country right now. Bush and friends have slowly, secretly and steadily turned up the heat on our democratic republic and our precious Constitution. We've reached the boiling point, and I'm afraid we may be cooked, unless Americans finally recognize what has been done to us.

Where is the outrage? Is ANYONE paying attention?

  • It is illegal to torture dogs and cats as they torture people...

Is anybody preparing cases against our American torturers, and their Defense department bosses, their Justice Department bosses, and their White House bosses?

We could enlist a few of their victims to testify, and run right up the line to the top. We already have lots of evidence to make the links.

Then let's try to impeach. And, then let's prosecute, after they leave office if necessary.

Is anybody preparing the cases? People outside of government could do that, and then turn the cases over to Congress and to prosecutors. I will help. Please just let me know whom to contact.

  • Torture,

    by any other name...

  • Impeach.

Tghe rest is just a colossal waste of time.

  • Impeach.

The rest is just a colossal waste of time.

  • Shame?

...despite a warning from Deputy Attorney General James Comey that the Justice Department would be "ashamed" when the world learned of it existence

I suspect that the people who survived this long at the Department of Justice under Bush & Gonzalez have no shame.

  • WHAT LAW?????????????

This Congress and the people were snookered by Gonzales and Bush to allow Bush and Cheney to use any means at their disposal, use any kind of torture, to try and get information, even thought it has been proven that torture does not work.

I expect that if we could be a fly on the wall in some of these prisons where detaines are being held accused of being terrorist we could get a first hand look at what torture really is.

You can repudiate torture until the cows come home but it don't make it so. I guess it all comes down to one statement. "Are you going to believe me or your lying eyes?"

  • and another thing...

I bet the only regrets Darth, Bushit, and Fredo have is that they didn't torture the prisoners enough to get any flimsy information about a serious attempt at placing a dirty bomb or worse. Imagine if that had happened. Bush would be the President Select till he died. His life-long "self-appointment" would cause the mass suicide of liberals and real conservatives alike. Actually, there wouldn't need to be any liberals or conservative any more after a scenario like that. We would all just walk along in a total disbelief stupor wondering how we let it all get away as we are all marched off to Gitmo...

  • DOJ

That was the wrong abbreviation for the Department of Justice under Gonzo and Bonzo. DOI (Department of Injustice) would have been more appropriate.

  • Trussing Justice

Wow, Justice isn't only blindfolded, she's apparently bound and gagged and made to endure prolonged standing, as well, and probably has a few broken fingers and toes. Maybe they need to revise all the statues of Justice around this country, to reflect the new reality of Republican extralegal theory.

Who knew (besides the GOP, of course) that they'd have cadres of lawyers whose primary job was to evade and circumvent the law, instead of upholding it? It's amazing what some folks will do in the service of ideology -- wrong becomes right, black becomes white, day becomes night. Can't they just change the Justice Department to the "Injustice Department" and call it a day for law and order in America?

  • Stevio

While I agree 100%, it takes some elected people with guts to do it. And a majority as well which with the likes of Lieberman is impossible to obtain. An International Court of Law may still get them if the US will sign on with the rest of the world.

  • make that waterboarding berto...

...san antonio has a nice riverwalk...nah.
