Too bad they die real deaths.

The Piloric Cyst Deferment

The Only Thing That Is Phony

Is Limbaugh's 3 marriages.

And His Pain

That resulted in Oxycontin addiction.

What does Rush Limbaugh know about any kind of soldiers?

We all know how hard he worked to make sure he'd never be any kind of soldier during 'Nam.

Limbaugh

Calling someone a phony soldier. That's rich. He ducked Viet Nam with a mickey mouse medical exemption. Now he's G.I. Joe on the radio.

Thursday, September 27, 2007 12:51 PM

I won't hold my breath...

...waiting for another swift resolution from the U.S. Congress similar to the "Gen. Betray-us" incident, this time condemning Limbaugh's slap at all those in the armed forces who continue to oppose this war and how it's being fought.

Ranging from basic enlisted men and women up to multi-star generals and admirals, THEY are true profiles in courage, in contrast to this pompous, self-important windbag.

Me Thinks

That Limbaugh, the ultimate military ass-kisser, going off on this kind of tangent means reports are starting to surface of military discontent, God help us, some of them may be tired of playing the role of the right wing's suckers.

When and where did Tim Grieve serve?

BTW, there have been "phony" soldiers protesting the war. Just this week a "soldier" from Madison announced that he would be returning his medals. Turns out that he receive an other than honorable discharge and is a pothead.

Limbaugh can't be speaking just for himself.

There's no way Rush Limbaugh would go that far out on a limb and criticize U.S. soldiers without it being some sort of meme that the Bush Admin is trying out. To me, it's a first-shot-across-the-bow attempt to temper growing dissent within the military. Basically they're now putting the soldiers on alert that "you're either with us or you're against us."

It doesn't get expressed in these terms, but it's an interesting flip-side to the increasingly well-received argument that it is the patriotic duty of the U.S. military to first and foremost uphold the Constitution and therefore their duty to NOT support the occupation of Iraq. That argument must be gaining too much traction for the comfort of Rush Limbaugh's paymasters.

Fool's

Only fool's listen to Rush or Bush

Thursday, September 27, 2007 01:07 PM

Not a bad idea, actually

RichEmery-- I think we should call for a resolution condemning Rush. Call your senator and congressman! If we can't get SCHIP or a withdrawal passed, at least we can slap that jerk in the face for smearing the good name of countless American soldiers.

The Only Thing That's Phony is Rush!

No other word I know of sums up Rush better than this:

sciolist

noun

an amateur who engages in an activity without serious intentions and who pretends to have knowledge [syn: dabbler]

Groenhagen

has a piloric cyst between his ears.

Al Franken had it right

Rush Limbaugh is a big, fat idiot.

His vitriol and self-aggrandizing pompousness is consistently sickening. But who cares what Rush thinks -- only the Dittoheads and that name speaks for itself.

Thursday, September 27, 2007 01:16 PM

Rush

Why does Rush hate the troops? Why does the Right hate our brave young men and women in uniform?

Thursday, September 27, 2007 01:29 PM

Talking about phonies

Rush Limbaugh definitely qualifies and belongs to them, even in the top echelon. BS artist par excellence.

RichEmery

Yes, excellent idea. Everyone should contact their representatives and demand a resolution condemning him.

I'm contacting mine. Along with Palosi and Reid.

So I assume you are one of those "real soldiers" on the front lines in Iraq? No, then STFU about anyone else's service. Limbaugh and you want the US to fight these glorious wars yet you and all of your chickenhawk ilk let others do the fighting. You are lower than despicable

Thursday, September 27, 2007 01:39 PM

If only people who've served in the military can talk about military service ...

Does that mean only people who can get pregnant can talk about abortion?

Or that only homosexuals can talk about being gay?

Or that only African Americans can talk about being black?

If this were the case, Limbaugh, O'Reilly and all of the other Bush apologists could only talk about being Bush apologists. And what fun would that be for hypocrites who think their time in the armed services earned them the right to apply their delusional self-righteousness to everyone else?

Prince Andrew served in the Falklands

Prince Andrew of the United Kingdom served in action as a helicopter pilot in the Falklands (Malvinas) war in the 1980s. I admire his sense of duty, a sense apparently lacking in our own First Family.

Groenhagen

On another site he introduced himself as Cpl USMC a claim assumed to be false according to another posting which stated the the USDMC did not know of anyone by that name and rank. His real name could well be Rove.

Be afraid Rush. Be very afraid.

I just read the full transcript and it is vile:

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_092607/content/01125113.guest.html

But you know, there's a part of me that almost feels sorry for Rush Limbaugh. He's a got a simple formula in that think, sweaty head of his: Limbaugh Listeners=Republicans=Perfect=The Troops. Then he gets a call on his radio show from Mike, a soldier and Republican who thinks maybe, just maybe, the military has done all that was asked of them and we should cut our losses.

RUSH: Mike, you can't possibly be a Republican.

CALLER: I am.

RUSH: You can't be Republican.

CALLER: Oh, I am definitely Republican.

RUSH: You sound just like a Democrat.

...

RUSH: You're not listening to what I say. You can't possibly be a Republican. I'm answering every question; it's not what you want to hear, and so it's not even penetrating your little wall of armor you've got built up....But the limitations that you want to impose here are senseless, and they, frankly, portray no evidence that you are a Republican.

Poor thing! Rush's whole world is being shaken! The military is coming after Limbaugh.

Well, not yet, but Limbaugh should be worried. She's impugning the character and patriotism of men who likely have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, brain trauma and have been trained to kill.

Be afraid Rush. Be very afraid.

*FYI: I think the "phony soldiers" Limbaugh is refering to are those like Jesse Macbeth (this was a 2006 story), who claimed to be a former Army Ranger who committed and witnessed atrocities in Iraq. He was doubted even by many anti-war activists and found to be lying. But rest assured, they are numerous real and truthful soldiers against the Iraq War. And Limbaugh's broad-brush labeling of dissenters as phonies is unacceptable.
