The questions they ask

Fox asks Clinton: Why are you so partisan?

The letters thread is now closed.

isn't that one of those questions like....

how often do you beat your wife?

Monday, September 24, 2007 04:56 AM

or

Why do you hate America?

Monday, September 24, 2007 05:05 AM

How did she answer?

Did she say words? or did she just stare goggle-eyed at him till they both burst out laughing at the hilarious absurdity of it all?

Monday, September 24, 2007 05:13 AM

She laughed in his face...

...the appropriate response to a clown in a circus.

Monday, September 24, 2007 05:18 AM

Is it possible ...

that he actually is so stupid that he doesn't even realize that she is supposed to be partisan, and he isn't ?

Appoggiatura

Yes.

Have you ever seen the way his father looks at him? The apple not only fell far from the tree, it wasn't even an apple.

What in Hell

did this idiot expect? Both Hillary and her husband are democrats, members of a party. I thing Wallace Sr. must be ready to throw up.

Monday, September 24, 2007 05:52 AM

I am thinking

Sorry about the thing in my previous post.

It's just set-up material

Another piece of kindling going into place for the planned bonfire when HRC emerges as the DLC's, I mean the people's, candidate. Gotta start renewing the concept now that she's a lefty extremist, in order to maximise the return when the hate parade cranks up to full again. The fact that she's virtually one of their own has nothing to do with anything. She's just the biggest source of fuel right now for the right-wing apparatus, so they're priming her with a little kerosene.

Monday, September 24, 2007 06:10 AM

Why the heck did she agree to go on Wallace's show in the first place?

Did Hillary Clinton just want to practice being attacked or something? Perhaps she knew that Wallace wouldn't be able to control himself and it would make her look good.

Perhaps Sen. Clinton hasn't given up on Fox viewers and is still trying to win over Republican voters? You'd think Hillary and the other Democratic candidates would know better by now.

It's like trying to feed a rabid dog hoping it will be friends with you. The dog will still bite you and your friends will think you're an idiot for trying.

Funny

Chris Wallace is a real schmuck.

The best part of the interview was at the very end, when Wallace asked Hilary to "give our best to the President".

She let out a genuine belly-laugh and said "I'm sure he'll be glad to hear that". It was very funny. I'm glad to see her laughing about it, because the treatment she's always received from the real hyper-partisans (a better word would be 'nutjobs') like Wallace - has been truly nasty, rude, and fundamentally dishonest.

For once Fox was right

Hillary and Bill are amazingly partisan. They enthusiastically campaigned for Joe Lieberman in the 2006 Democratic Primary, despite the fact that Lieberman's a cheerleader for the type of foreign policy they claim to oppose. Heck, Lieberman was even a prominent voice in denouncing Bill Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal. If blind party loyalty isn't bringing these people together, I don't know what is. If, come general election, Hillary is on the ballot, this former Democrat will submit a blank ballot.

Re: Why the heck did she agree to go on Wallace's show in the first place?

She might not have gone to woo Republicans. Maybe it was to woo Democrats.

Noam Sane makes a good point in describing Clinton's belly-laugh. She seemed to be having...fun.

It showed she's not afraid of Republican pissants. And it showed a warm and fun side of Clinton that people really need to see.

Clinton wasn't in any danger going on Fox News Sunday. Bill Clinton could handle Chris Wallace and so can Hillary Clinton.

FYI: She was also on Meet the Press, and it's convenient to be able to trot out the same talking points at one time.

@ wysiwyg

I would say that Hillary Clinton appeared on FOX News for one good reason: to give the average FOX viewer a good look at the next President of the United States.

After all, that permanent rectal-cranial inversion view of the outside world, as suffered by the average FOX viewer, is rather limited.

Other good questions rarely asked...

Pot to Kettle: "Why are you so black?"

Guy hit with stone to Guy who lives in glass house: "Did you just throw a rock at me? Really?"

Monday, September 24, 2007 07:33 AM

He should talk.

He's also mistaking intelligence and careing for the middle class and the poor with partisian politics. People like Wallace are too wealthy to get their heads around helping people other than those in his own social class. It's what makes clowns like him so transparent and a schill for FOX. One has to wonder what his health insurance plan looks like. I'm betting he's covered.

Monday, September 24, 2007 08:40 AM

Chris Wallace should have asked her...

...how she spent the money she got from attending the fundraiser thrown for her by Rupert Murdoch and News Corp.

Monday, September 24, 2007 09:16 AM

Mr Wallace...

...why are you still beating your husband?

Monday, September 24, 2007 09:17 AM

@mizbinkley

Point taken. I suppose she got what she expected from Wallace. Since Sen. Clinton was doing the "full Ginsburg" it probably would also have been more of an issue if she had skipped Fox.

Oh Hell

ALL politians are partisan...that just goes with the territory. If someone says they are a moderate or willing to work with the other side, this just means they are willing to negotiate to get what they want.
