Giuliani smells a rat
You tell 'em, Tim!
Giuliani's interview after the President's speech was so smarmy it made me squirm. But I guess I just don't appreciate that he's the only person in the world who understands "terrorism's war on us." 9-11, 9-11, 9-11. Be very afraid.

Takes one to know one
Scoop and Dump knows all about what it means to be a rat.
-
Yes, there is a conspiracy
Just about everyone in the 'reality based community' is out to get you and Bush. Coincidence?
-
Signs of Things to Come?
If this is any indication of what the next 14 months will bring on the campaigning/slandering front, I can hardly wait. (Sarcasm intended.)
With big lies writ large and slander organizations funded by billionaires, we are about to be force-fed industrial-strength crap on a scale never seen before. The fear-mongers will be proclaiming Doomsday unless we elect their candidate to save the nation, the environment, our civil rights, our citizenship against illegal aliens, our right to health care... you get it, pick the cause.
Our dilemma will be to pick out which lies align with our beliefs and cast our votes.
Justice is depicted as a blindfolded woman holding scales. For all the electoral disinformation we are about to be force-fed, the Electorate should be depicted as a person covering his or her eyes with one hand and marking a ballot with the other hand.

Giuliani smells a rat.
More likely he smells lemming. Which is what he is. As far as "politicians spewing political venom", give this guy a split in his tongue (we're not even talking two faces here) and you pretty much sum up his whole life as the snake that he is. This guy is a Bush clone, only I don't know anyone who'd like to have a beer with him. He'd probably sucker-punch the poor guy...
-
@kenwaz,
better yet, the justice scale lady bending over to puke. It will most assuredly be a nasty, nasty, campagin.
-
Well, I guess if Chertoff can have a gut feeling then Rudy is entitled to a prosecutorial hunch
How about that, a hump has a hunch.

Jamie McIntire is reporting from the Pentagon right now, using the words "Benchmarks" and "Timetables"
And yesterday a December 2007 date was set for the start of a withdrawal.
So now I must have gotten my meds mixed up this morning because I could have sworn that Bush decreed that there would be no benchmarks and there would be no timetables and that any "date certain" for withdrawal of U.S. troops would just give away our plans to the enemy and that they could then just wait us out.
Somebody call Joe Liebermann and see if he can un-spin this.
But I guess timetables and dates certain and benchmarks are OK if the Commander and Chimp says it. But Democrats are traitors if they say it.

Great idea: Don't take him seriously; be sarcastic about Giuliani
No intelligent American would believe that there is an orchestrated effort bringing MoveOn and Clinton together for vile, unAmerican purposes.
Just as no intelligent person would believe that John Kerry ran from danger, shot a defenseless kid in the back, and appeared onstage with Jane Fonda back in the day.
Of course, people who are not especially intelligent will be voting, won't they? And the Republicans are counting on smart folks like us to laugh and laugh and not fight back whenever they say something dickheaded--because eventually the dickheads will get to vote.
-
De(fer)mented
Bush, Cheney, etc.ect. Giuliani fits right in. Let others get killed.
-
Especially nauseating is the fact that
The first wave of returning vets are already schedualed to arrive in time for christmas. Can't you picture it? Tearful families reuniting for the holidays with eyes as wide as precious moments figurines while republicans stand conspicously nearby twizzling hot spiced cider with cinamon sticks and patting each other on the back for creating the ultimate family values moment. Surely we will all forget that they were responsible for making them miss last christmas.
-
I have a conspiracy for you....
My 3rd grade science book says the earth is round, and so did Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Does this mean that there is a conspiracy between them? Furthermore, does this mean the world isn't round?
There is a damn good reason why people are questioning Petraeus' integrity. It has something to do with the fact that his statements are in complete contradiction of facts.
Where most folks come from, people that fall into that category are called liars. Where I come from (multiple tours in combat zone), they're called traitors.
-
Giuliani smells a rat??
Wait, he IS the rat. I'm sure he's just getting a whiff of himself. Basta, Il Douche!
-
Smelling a rat?
Poor Rudy. He really needs to get a better deodorant.

voters
Of course, people who are not especially intelligent will be voting, won't they? And the Republicans are counting on smart folks like us to laugh and laugh and not fight back whenever they say something dickheaded--because eventually the dickheads will get to vote.
Who cares? It's "democracy", you get what you deserve.

If Giuliani smells a rat,
he should take a bath.

Petraeus, the Perfect
Giuliani and the rest of the Kool-Aid peddlers want us to believe that Petraeus is some sort of all-knowing, all-seeing guide to goodness and light in Iraq. Were that the case, why would a guy with a Master's Degree from Princeton need to emphasize his case with such a moronic statement as the "36 other nations" jibberish?
We and our troops are certainly beholden to Canada and New Zealand for sending one person each. And let's not forget Latvia, who has sent as many as both those allies combined - 2.
The relationship between between Petraeus and Bush is is employee to employer. The employee gives the employer what he wants of he becomes an ex-employee. Think Powell and Shinseki. The army does not tell truth to power - period. Giuliani is Rovian in propping up another straw man but how fast do you think Mr. Personality would take to fire Petraeus the first time he crossed him?

The Mayor is a master--at slander
Giuliani is a master demogogue and propagandist, and we better recognize that fact. Anonymous is absolutely right; we smile condescendingly at our peril. This guy and his thuggish crew of advisors and scrptwriters will successfully smear and swiftboat our nominee and fool sufficient millions to win the election unless we learn--finally!--how to fight back hard and without mercy. It's not the season for embracing some misguided sense of "kinder gentler politics" or to believe as we have for so long that just dismissing the atacks as irrelevant will work.
