Poll Question
I know; it's like I recently heard a commentator say that unless there's another terrorist attack between now and the presidential elections, the Democrats will win. What? Unless there's another terrorist attack? Wouldn't that prove that attacking Iraq was not the way to keep us safe, that it has made us less safe instead of more safe? In other words, wouldn't it prove the Loony Left right? And yet, every time, the Right comes out and uses potential danger from terrorist attacks as reasons to support them & their policies. And it goes unquestioned in the media, and even by leading Democrats, who all continue to frame the debate as "stay the course vs. retreat because the costs are too high", or maybe "homeland security vs. civil liberties", but completely miss the fact that these policies are creating MORE enemies of the U.S. and making us LESS safe. It's outrageous.

Fools! Bush IS Bin Laden
Go read the text of Bin Laden's letter to America. About 2/3 of the way thru he gets to the bit about wanting to destroy the USA by precipitating a US invasion of a Middle-East Islamic country, bleeding our blood & treasure, and inflaming world-wide opinion against America and for terrorism.
So what part of that scrip hasn't Bush followed? Terrorism, like regieme change, begins at home. Take a good look in the mirror.

We haven't caught bin Laden becase ...
... he is more valuable to Mr. Bush as a boogeyman than he would be as a prisoner (or a corpse). All of Mr. Bush's expansions of executive power have been won by using terrorists to scare americans into submission.

Some facts
1. Bush has indeed left bin Laden alone because he's more valuable popping up from time to time screaming, "Booga booga!" than in a U.S. prison. We will never catch him while Bush is president.
2. Bush will keep us in Iraq as long as he is president, because no one has the balls to cut his funding, and because many of us still buy into the idea that he will act based on reasonable information. Psychopaths don't do that. They listen to the voices.
3. The Democrats will never impeach these monsters. Never. They lack any guts, convictions or sense of duty to the people whom they serve.
4. As utterly bereft of any principled leadership as this country appears to be, it's prime time to bring on the Greens or Independents to challenge not just the Repugnant party candidates in Congress but the Democrats as well. They all deserve a swift boot out the door. Public outrage means this is the best chance in years for some indys to grab some seats.
Now, a plea: Mr. Gore, please, please run. Please.

Pretty sure he's dead, actually
Just a gut feeling, nothing more, but it seems to me that OBL is probably dead. He had(?) enough medical problems to make this a reasonable assumption, and the fact that there's been such a lapse in new video, coupled with his supposed "young look" in this one, sounds to me like he's undergoing the Brian O'Blivion process these days.

First, is it a trick question? After all, I saw that lookalike whose Australian comedy team advanced much further into the secure area than they had expected and were arrested for their effort. [a potential new Olympic event?]
And that new bin Laden photo: his beard is darker. Wouldn't dying a beard be as bad as or worse than cutting/trimming it... at least according to Muslim tradition?
Too bad that Bush has already made so many gaffes of his own in Oz, or he might be better situated to take advantage of a possible case of mistaken identity (bin Laden's not his own). But after his own gaffes, he must be a little bit too nervous to try and take advantage of such a golden opportunity, don't you think?

has swayed an election, gotten at least 4000 American soldiers killed and countless maimed, killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, Afghans, and assorted Saudis, Jordanians, Egyptians, Syrians,and numerous other Arabs and Nationals from countries still actively buying into his reality.
He is a pox sent into the world via a misguided backing by the CIA who successfully helped him to realize his awful poetential killing Commies for us in a different proxie war involving a different country that had the unmitigated gaul to invade a sovergin country for no acceptable reason. He has scared the world with a high degree of cynical candor making him the perfect foil for politicians willing to use fear mongering to reach their own hubris at the hghest levels.
WE, WE created this monster and, like all crerated monsters, it has eventually turned-on it's own creator for reasons still not completly clear to people who wonder how he went from "ally" to ungrateful protagonist in a struggle that has resulted in a world gone awry. America has truly opened pandora's Box. That's right, the CIA and it's owner, America. Heck of a job America...

He's dead - and has been since 2001
None of the tapes of him are persuasively authentic and it is not to be believed that someone who released tapes all the time before 9/11 -- and who has recording devices at the ready -- would not have had a direct response after 9/11 -- and many since.
Also funny that he come out at times that pundits seem to think help the GOP (either true or spun so it becomes it's true).
He is dead and has been. He is a tool to scare the public (and largely was that when he was alive too).
