  • "Please tell me it ain't so, Joe!"

What a surprise. I guess there's only so many jobs and money to go around and ,after all, I mean, if only the rich are getting richer what would one think was going to happen when the reality of the rethoric surfaced?

Congratulations to all of you lemmings out there who voted directly against your own better self-interests. Now you can add to your worry list not just those pesky terrorists that scared you into voting for a guy and his cronies who could care less about you, but also the fact that you have, lost your job, can't find a job with a living wage, had your job outsoursed, or downgraded, or just plain haven't been given a pay raise but have been asked to work more to make-up for all the guys and gals who lost their job at your work place. Just keep pulling that GOP voting machine lever though. Just like that slot machine at the local Casino, you're, just one pull away from winning a million...

  • Why 4,000 fewer?

There were 4,000 fewer jobs in August because people "left the work force for any number of reasons," according to the AP. [http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/07/AR2007090700926.html?tid=informbox]

Maybe they left the workforce for the troop surge in Iraq.

Maybe they worked at a school that lost funding for not meeting "No Child Left Behind" standards.

Maybe, due to the Bush tax cuts for the uber-wealthy, we have more idle rich--they've left the workplace altogether.

Maybe they worked in the Bush Administration and were part of the "turn in your walking papers by Labor Day" group.

We have 4,000 fewer jobs because Bush's plans are working. And we're kicking ass.

  • Pres. Calls Jobs Report "Traitor!" -- Orders Troops To Fire At It!

In a bold move the President has decided to use his broad (and vaguely god-like) powers as President to declare the jobs report an "enemy combatant!"

The report has been surrounded by US troops and is taking heavy fire.

"We're kicking ass!' declared the President. "Within six months we expect the troop surge to quell the evil jobs report and restore stability to America!"

If using the military to solve political problem in Iraq is working so wonderfully -- this must make sense!

  • Good news...

for Salon. People lost their jobs. Now you can really go after Bush.

If we have a terrorist attack then it will be a perfect year for Salon.
