  • Tom Davis,

RINO from Northern Virginia, will go after Warner's seat. He'll have to run against some Southside slimeball such as Jerry Kilgore. Hee hee hee! It won't be pretty. And Davis will either than to give up his seat for a not sure thing, or keep it, and if he loses the Repub nomination for Warner's seat, he'll have to explain himself to the voters of his district. Watch Jerry Connelly, currently chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to run. (This is the position that Davis had before he ran against Leslie Byrne who held the seat.)

Order up a pizza, honey! It's going to be fun in the Old Dominion for the next six months!

  • Could this be George Allen's comeback?

You never know, it could happen.

  • I doubt it,

because Allen has become a fool in Virginia politics. He got away with a tough guy persona - the press in Virginia gave him a walk until it didn't - and he is a laughing stock. He could have overcome being caught with a prostitute (after all, he did dump his first wife for a younger, smarter, prettier hottie). But being laughed at and mocked - no way. I suspect that Jerry Kilgore and James Gilmore will go after the nomination, and one of them will get it.

  • Senate 2008

It just keeps getting better and better for the Democrats. I just can't wait.

  • Good Riddance

    Another warmongering douchebag gone.

  • John Warner Retiring?

John Warner, a war hawk recently came out against this Iraqi debacle and called for the re-deployment of some U.S. troops by year end. It was a broadside to the Bush administration. Just days later, he is announcing that he is stepping aside and not seeking re-election.

Senator Warner, agree with him or not, is no fool. Timing is everything in politics and his sequence of press conferences is telling. I do not believe his actions are the cliche "rats running from a sinking ship", nor the "I'm leaving to spend time with my family." The senate is his family.

Mr. Warner knows a thing or two about war mongering since he's been a willing participant and cheerleader in the Iraqi conquest and occupation. Perhaps the ill winds blowing from Washington to Tehran are more worrisome than some of us would like to believe, including Senator Warner.
