Gonzales resignation: Dissembling until the end

Two days after he submitted his resignation, Gonzales told his spokesman that it wasn't imminent.

The letters thread is now closed.

In the style of Monty Python

"This parrot is dead."

"No it's not."

"Yes it is! Look at it. It's bloody dead!"

"No it's not."

"We heard you are going to resign."

"No I'm not."

"Why are you cleaning out your desk?"

"I'm not."

"What's that big shredder doing in here?"

"That's not a shredder."

"It says, 'Shredder' right there on the side of it."

"No it doesn't."

Gonzales: The archetypal toadie

Master's little Igor. The only thing Fredo lacks is the Peter Lorrie voice to complete the effect.

I truly hope every Congress person is reading Glenn Greenwald's latest entry - time to kick butt.

Gonzales in Iraq?

My first reaction, when I heard of the resignation, was, "Isn't he supposed to be in Iraq?"

So, until he speaks in a couple minutes and shatters this dream, I have this fantasy: Gonzales, having finally witnessed what this Administration has wrought in Iraq, denounces Bush and tells us THAT's why he's quitting.

Well done, Gary

This whole Administration has been rather Pythonesque. Too bad this comedy has consequences.

How can you tell when Gonzales is lying?

His lips move.

If he lies about everything..

Maybe he's lying about this. Perhaps he's not resigning at all, just moving to the Super-Ultra Secret Terr'ist fightin' branch of the DOJ that's designed to fight terr'ists (democrats). Bush decided Gonzo can't spy on Democrats from the public light, so he's just going to make him part of the Shadow Government.

Creepy.
