He's just a decent Christian man
Only pussy traitors would criticize him for locking-and-loading for the Lord. Why do you hate America?
-
Perfect on Limbaugh
Now the two of them can be hypocracy buddies together on Rush's next drug scoring trip to the Carribean!
-
Once again...
...it just shows that people's view of behavior depends on whose ox is gored...

Ted Nugent should be gassed and skinned
And turned into belts. There. Suck on that you retard.
-
I...
won't vote for Nugent as President.
-
Prissy
If Ted Nugent really said that, he SHOULD be wrung out on a rail for saying it. Prissily declaiming that Republicans would be all over it if Bruce Springsteen said it at a concert really doesn't mean much. Ted Nugent did, and we should excoriate him for it.

To Use Ted's Own Quote
(sorry if I'm misremembering this slightly)
"If we didn't have free speech, how would we know who all the assholes are?"
-
Ted may not be who he seems
I know people who live in the same small town in Michigan that Ted does, and they say he's just about the nicest, most down-to-earth guy you'd ever want to meet -- not at all like the Motor City madman /manic bow hunter that he presents himself to be.
I also know people who snorted coke with Ted back in the mid-80's -- just a few years before Ted became the anti-drug crusader who self-righteously proclaimed he never, ever had done drugs.
So, we're left with one of two explinations:
1) Ted's whole right-wing attitude is just an act -- and a shrewd one: had he not branded himself as the only conservative rocker, he would've been forgotten long ago.
2) Ted is a raging hypocrite

BIZARRE
THIS is bizarre.
-
I just don't believe it
Ted Nugent still gives shows and people attend them? Do they pay or was it another mall opening?
-
Yes, Ted
Speaking as a loony liberal, and on behalf of my friends who are gay, I'm sure we all agree that we have NEVER experienced a push from the right to force us to comply to their outline of life. Nope, with the right it's to each his own and live and let live all day and all night.
If only "Stranglehold" didn't have one of the all-out, balls-to-the-walls killer riffs of all-time: "Some people think their gonna die some day/ I got news you never gotta go."
So, you may not have to die some day, but you WILL have to live in a world of national health care and no ability to wage war at one's leisure. Oh my god, just kill me now before that happens.

What enquiring minds want to know...
Is what the Nuge has seen about Fred Thompson that makes hims so well luminescent? It can't be Law and Order, a series totally dedicated to showing the evils of rampant gun possession; the children who get guns and shoot for kicks, the heavily armed drug gangs, and my best, the gun manufacturer who made a rifle specifically designed to be modified to automatic, and the gun show dealer who sold the modification kit. I bet the Nuge just gushed over his fav man when his attorneys demonstrated the damage done by this gun by slowing pouring out hundreds of bullets onto a table for the jury to see.
Good 'ol "LawnOrder" Ted, never pausing to think that it is the law and order folks most calling for gun control.
What a tool.

And He Claims to Have Lived a Life of Sobriety
I've heard Ted Nugent avoided the Vietnam Draft (seems to be a prerequiste to be taken seriously by the MSM and other pro war supporters) by abstaining from using the bathroom for a week prior to his draft board physical. He arrived at the physical with fecal and urine stained pants, smelling of excrement, and telling the doctors he would kill everyone in Vietnam. It would appear all that's changed is he has resumed use of the bathroom.

Feel the love
Can't you just feel it...
-
Fuck Ted Nugent.
But please, Salon, don't ever compare Bruce Springsteen to Ted Nugent. Even to make a point. In any way, shape or form.
-
Didn't Know He Was So Right-WANG
The last time I saw the Nuge was the last time....used to groove strong on those meaty electric hooks, but half of his show was comprised of this jingoistic, xenophobic fist-pumping diatribe. Maybe he though he was in NASCAR land here in Northern Kalifornia, and I may have been the only one in the audience who flipped him off when he practiced his love for GW, but looking around at the faces in the crowd I saw definite confusion in the folks who thought the Great White Buffalo would have shown more wisdom.

Freedom
I love how he screams about freedom while not attacking the Bush Administration who is busy trying to take as many freedoms from us as possible. Are Clinton and Obama culpable here? Of course. But, he should be holding the prime assholes to account for their decisions. Hence, he is just a clueless idiot.
-
To be fair,
Nugent only tells Obama to do something to himself, but he does not urge others to believe it is in their rights to take out the other side of their own volition, as the lefties do when they suggest it will be time to take out the right one day.
I'm no fan of Nugent or his ilk, I believe in his views on libertarianism and self sufficiency, but the agreement stops there. He just seems like a true believer rabble rouser.
I'm also not a fan of the left, with their equally fascistic leanings.

The Ironic Mad Man
Like a lot of the posters, I still dig a great deal of Nugent's music. Unlike most of his right-wing brethren, I can seperate my appreciation of art from the foibles (or worse) of the artist. In that vein, I could never understand the burning of Dixie Chicks records by people who only days earlier would have killed for a pair of tickets to see them.
With that in mind, I recently went to a Nugent concert at a weekend fest put on by a middle-class Chicago suburb. At the outset, I was particularly disturbed by the large percentage of neo-nazi types in the crowd. I also saw and heard first-hand the rap that's depicted in the video posted (which really just skims the surface). I kind of expected that, though, being aware of Ted's leanings and bombast.
But what was really amazing was the utter lack of irony in the encore as he tore through Great White Buffalo, which at its heart is an indictment of the ignorant "white man" who destroyed the natural world and way of life of the indigenous peoples of North America. An indictment of the very attitudes Ted and his shaved-headed, swastika-tattooed acolytes proudly embrace today: we have the power to bend the world to our wishes, so we will, and fuck 'em all if they don't like it.
