Maybe Rupert Murdoch taught her to speak this way...
...at the fundraisers he throws for her?
There is NO WAY IN HELL I'll be voting for a bastard that takes huge amounts of money from Rupert Murdoch. Bought and sold by the enemy of democracy.
After that little stunt, I wouldn't piss in her mouth if her teeth were on fire. Fuck Hillary Clinton!
-
The media gave the Hillary-bashers more false fodder...
The Hillary-haters will have a field day with these distorted, out-of-context quotes.
-
What did I tell ya?
kickstart kicks it off, true to form...
-
Hell in a very small place, or lessons we should already have learned...
“The enemy advances, we retreat; the enemy camps, we harass; the enemy tires, we attack; the enemy retreats, we pursue” -- Mao Tse Tung
What part of this is hard to understand? In a guerrilla conflict, OF COURSE the insurgents will flow away from a concentration of opposing forces. They're not there to commit suicide by fighting trained soldiers on equal terms, after all. It therefore naturally follows that where troop levels are highest insurgent activity is low, ergo the "surge" works in part. It also DOESN'T work, in that where force levels are low (and they can't be high everywhere, all the time) insurgent activity increases.
This is the nature of guerilla warfare and this is a lesson we've already been taught-- and which our leaders and our media appear to have conveniently forgotten.
-
No, it isn't even a fine distinction.
We'll admit it's a fine distinction
No, it isn't even a fine distinction. You're too generous and buying into the administration's line that if you're against the war, you're against the troops. They aren't even remotely the same thing.
Our troops can perform their military tasks. But they can't create policy, they can't reform Iraqi politics, and they can't undo centuries of sectarian divisions.
The troops are the construction workers, and they're performing their roles. But they didn't supply the building materials, they're not the architects and they can't can't ensure the building's inhabitants will get along.
-
Micki, do your own homework on Hillary
The more you know, the more you come to hate her for being a fucking sellout.
Bush is surrounded by people who refuse to see the obvious and support him no matter what.
It's not "the Hillary" I hate, It's the rank fucking hypocrisy that makes me sick.
-
Kickstarts, I've done my homework...
why don't you learn to read for content?
Her comments were distorted by the media.
-
Micki, you can support her all the way to the grave if you please
but the people who can't stand to see a politician take a boatload of money from the very person who tried for years to destroy her husbands presidency may have a different view of her.
Be my guest, champion til the end. I'll try to find someone with integrity to vote for.
-
Of course Murdoch is giving Hillary money
FOX news would never have become what it did without Bill and Hillary to bash. I wouldn't have blamed Comedy Central if they threw boatloads of money at Bush's 2004 reelection campaign. The Daily Show would never have survived four years of John Kerry jokes.
Murdoch knows a meal ticket when he sees one, and I wouldn't be surprised if all he ever asked of her was to keep hubby Bill in the spotlight with a job like Cabinet for Women's Affairs.
Let her take the money. With all the money she's raised elsewhere she's hardly beholden to him.
-
Damnit! I swear if another idiot claims
Al Anbar as a sign that the surge is working I will wring their chicken necks! There has been NO troop surge in Al Anbar. No surge. Since Al Anbar has NOT seen a troop surge, any "progress" there CANNOT be due to the surge "working". Get it? This needs to be thrown right back at any and all who spout off about the surge working. That line is a LIE.
The "progress" in Al Anbar is ENTIRELY internally driven and independent of US troops. It is ONLY Sunni insurgent groups getting sick and tired of the self-destructive acts of Al Qaeda in Iraq.
Do NOT allow the pundits and politicos to get away with their lies. Call them on the Al Anbar/surge working lie. Ask them how many troops from the surge have been stationed in Al Anbar. Ask them to specify exactly where in Iraq the troop surge has physically taken place.
-
I give up
Keep the bloody troops in Iraq FOREVER. I just don't care anymore. Let the Republicans have their 20 votes in California, I don't care. Let the children go without healthcare, I don't care. I just can't care anymore. The Republicans will fight SO HARD to rule this country that it's just not worth it anymore. Let the rednecks rule. Outlaw abortion. Execute doctors who perform it. Draft all the illegals into the military and send them to Iraq. Attack Iran. Hell, NUKE Iran. It's gonna happen anyway. Why fight it. We are an imperalistic military country now. No going back. I just can't care anymore.

Surge "Success"
The proper frame for this issue is:
Tactical Success; Strategic Failure.
-
If I were famous enough to quote...
ME: "The Surge is a lunacy and was from the beginning. It is as if this Administration wants to convince us that throwing a few good men into the Maw of Hell (tm) will somehow miraculously turn things around. But now they've got this neat little mantra going. Four words: the Surge is Working! Repeat till you believe. It's become so typical, that nobody is surprised anymore and nobody really cares, anyway. Blah blah blah, more lies. We're just waiting for the next Presidential election to roll around, anyway..."
FOX NEWS: "'Four Words: the Surge is Working!' exclaims FreeProton, a vitriolic critic of the Bush Administration in what amounts to a radical reversal of his views. Here joining us is a fellow Bush critic Michael O'Hanlon, with a few comments on how this proves that the Surge is, indeed, Working, Michael..."
-
The Surge
Of course the Surge is reducing violence in the areas covered by the increase in troops. That is to be expected.
But, it is temporary - unless we are prepared to remain in a "Surge" state permanently.
So the reduction in violence is a false sense of security. As soon as we begin to reduce the size of our forces the violence will increase.
Bush's strategy is, at best, a gamble and the odds are not in our favor.

Response to letters about Clinton and Murdock
I look at this article and see a story about media spinning and misquoting. I don't see anywhere in here a story about Senator Clinton receiving money from Rupert Murdock. However, since threads develope in online conversation I will just politely ask where, when or how is Clinton getting money from Murdock?
I think Murdock donated money to the Sunami relief that was headed by Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr. but I have never heard of Murdock donating money to the Democratic party or to the Clintons. Obviously there are conspiracy theorists who believe that the Clintons and the Bushes are partners working together. However, I'm not interested in theories, but hard factual information. I try to be open-minded so with that said, please give me your sources and/or information that proves that Murdock is giving money to Hillary Clinton.
Please do not respind with insults, or anger. I realize you believe strongly that "Of course Murdock is giving her money" but I would like to know how you know. It's just a question.
