From the experts, a gloomy view on Iraq

Only 3 percent say Iraq will be a "beacon" of democracy in the Middle East.

the general

General Betrayus is just another of what my old friend the late David Hackworth used to call the "Perfumed Princes of Versailles-on-the-Potomac." This guy is to actual American generals who won World War II as a cockroach is to a human being. He and the rest of the "leaders" of the Imperial Legions are a disgrace to their uniforms, who long ago forgot the oath they took at West Point to never lie and never tolerate among themselves those who do.

You don't have to be an expert to know

which way the wind blows. Betrayus lost any credibility when he handed over his good name to the neocons for propaganda purposes. Maybe Tom Cruise will live long enough to play Betrayus in the made for TV movie on this debacle. Scientology has about as much credibility as this upcoming report so Cruise would be a perfect match. Pass the popcorn...

Third Grade Schoolyard

When did Salon go down the toliet? The comments on this report fit remarkably well with the taunts I used to hear in the third grade. "General Betrayus"? This whole board has turned into a Kos Kids trash heap insult fest. If you have a specific comment on the counter insurgency strategy - perhaps you could voice it more clearly.

It is truly depressing to read anything on Salon these days, it feels like a mirror image of Fox. What happened to simple analysis? All we get now is opinion, opinion, and more opinion.
