  • Better off with the evil Saddam in power?

But the "rape rooms," Tim! The "rape rooms!"

Have you already forgotten about the "rape rooms?"

  • The heat has obviously been affecting him for sometime now

Here in Australia we call it "gone troppo". It's when the heat has addled someones brains to the point of madness and it seems Old Georgy boy has been out in the sun too often and too long.

But in Iraq of course they are simply doing what they have been doing for centuries only now with our help, (and I mean that literally seeing our beloved leader John Dubya Howard has also signed on for the exercise of introducing democracy in five easy steps) which is essentially kill each other over the most minor infractions, including marrying out of your religious denomination. This story has biblical overtones, what a pity that girl never made it to the covering hands of a contemporary Jesus like the adultress did in the Bible. The irony is that this madness has also been facilitated by a professing Christian and Bible waving lunatic in the person of George W Bush. But then the heat has probably seared his conscience anyway and a few more senseless deaths in Iraq while he is on holidays will mean nothing to the most evil, stupid and reckless president in the history of the United States, and that's saying something. Which makes me wonder. How come no one has arrested this pack of criminals yet?

  • Operation Iraqi Freedom

So said Bush in 2003. Imbecile. He likes the heat, it seems he generated a lot more than just heat in Iraq, mainly murder and mayhem. Mainly innocent people are the victims apart from American soldiers. And those are not the sons of the neo-con establishment but mainly poor people who joined up to help them out of misery. And the great decider chops down shrubs (no pun intended) and builds mountain bike trails. He and his "first lady" have become the laughing stock of the world. God bless America.

  • A question for treeman

I hope that you were not the treeman who wound up in the crocodile surround and survived on a tree. Just read it and saw a short video in Der Spiegel.

  • Hedging his bets...my theory

Bush likes to spend as much time in the heat doing physical labor as he can manage. It's boot camp to toughen him up for what he knows is coming when the grim reaper finally comes calling.

And all this bike riding and White House gym stuff is a fevered attempt to put off the inevitable for as long as possible.

That's the nice thing about Christianity. There is a hell. And for someone as insecure as "W", it must stick in his mind like a big ol' tumbleweed tangled in a barbed-wire fence. (He's really hooked me on those folksy Texas descriptives.)

Having looked into his own eyes every morning and seen his soul, as he is so fond of doing with everyone else, he can't possibly believe his own press anymore. Unless he really is certifiably nuts. Oops, there goes my fear-of-hell theory.

  • I figured it out

He's vacationing over here, so he doesn't have to vacation over there. Or something like that.

  • I once heard ...

I once heard Michael Savage play a clip of democrats raising their voices, and then playing a clip from "Mommy Dearest," where Joan Crawford screams, "No more wire hangers!" He would play Hillary Clinton sort of not even shouting, and then the Crawford scream, and did that with a couple of other Democrats, maybe Kerry. His intent was to make it seem like these Democrats were crazy angry just like Joan Crawford. It was really stupid and didn't really work.

This latest post from Mr. Grieve made me think of that. Just as stupid. Just as ineffective.

  • The "devil you know"...

Sadam was brutal and his reign was highlighted by the gassing of the kurds with chemicals that we created an environment, through copious amounts of foreign aid, that allowed him wiggle room in domestic spending issues to amass funds to buy these arms to kill his "neighbors" and his own population.

Maliki's reign has "allowed" for Shitte death squads to create "open air" slaughter of Sunni countrymen so even though the Iraqis are "better off" without Sadam and his antics, apparently their luck has been supplanted with in-like torture and slaughter. The point is that the Iraqi people are not better off with or without Sadam, with or without an occupying force, and with or without a unified Iraq. They are tribal, will strive to be tribal and, after they have settled their old scores, will remain tribal. Until Bushit and Co, get that through their thick cro-magnon heads, the "State sponsored" slaughters will continue, just under a "new" auspices...
