  • Just layin' it right out there....

We (who are not supposed to reside in a reality-based world) have been told (how many times?) that we're "waiting for General Petraeus' REPORT from the GROUND" to give us the real scoop on the success of the so-called surge......

These guys are so comfortable throwing crap at us, they didn't even try and hide the fact under the couch cushions!

Somehow I smell another lamb headed to the slaughter....remember Taguba? So long spit-polished reputation...Petraeus "we gave you all the money and tools for the job but you fell short of the goal"....

Forget the spin about the REAL truth coming from the "boots on the ground."

  • Quizno

You guys couldn't establish a Permanent Republican Majority (trademark) in this country even when we invited you in and begged you to give us your hot conservative love. How the f**k is the international caliphate supposed to take over this country against our will? Although we are tacking dangerously in that direction, even the hard core Christianists haven't taken over with own form of Sharia. AND MOST OF THE US IS CHRISTIAN!! Don't cite nazi germany, or post czarist communism, or any other of the the scary monsters you keep trotting out in defense of this absurd notion. They are, with any thinking analysis, "NA". It ain't going to happen. Or at least not until after the rapture in which case, who among your tribe of nailbiting xenophobes really cares?!

Does it really not even bother you a little bit that the report we are "waiting on" is being written by the administration? You don't see any conflict of interest issues? Anywhere? Nothing?

    What a maroon.

  • @Quizno

It would serve to further my education in the psychological aspects of human nature to hold an unemotional Q & A re your support of this administration.

On second thought, that would be asking too much - - remaining unemotional in the face of the republican efforts to shred my Constitution.

Your accusation that many readers/posters at Salon.com want to see failure of our troops in Iraq only reflects you have failed to inform yourself that the best military minds on the ground in Iraq (past and present) have said

There is NO military solution in Iraq,it must be political.

You see, Quizno, America can't "install" democratic "freedoms" anywhere in the world at the point of a gun. Do your homework; Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Like so many other global "conquests" America has hidden their agenda by wrapping themselves in the red, white and blue.

  • It was written last December

Remember when the Iraq Study Group offered up its recommendations, and Bush disappeared for a few weeks while he "listened to all sides and weighed all options" (as if he was capable of either of those things); well, that period where he went away, and the media sat around with bated breath as if waiting for Moses to come down from the mountain, Bush and gang was writing up the September surge report. It was written back then. How could any American who has paid any attention at all these past seven years not realize that? When Bush stepped up to the microphone and said "Fuck you all very much, but we're going to have a surge" the report was already written! It was only a matter of fitting a few facts to the report as needed.

As always with this group, policy first, facts later; and when the facts don't cooperate, change the facts.

Bush and Cheney will have their war. It's the ONLY plan. The only plan in the past, and the only plan for the future. They want it because they want it. And they always get what they want.

  • Where are you sitting, Quisno?

In a Bradley? In a Stryker? In a Humvee? A duece 'n half full of gasoline bumping along up to Tikrit?

No. You're sitting on your ass somewhere in America.

What are you doing here, Quisy baby?

    You're just another chickenhawk.

    Ptthtt!

  • Another rep shot to hell

I am beginnng to think there is something horrible about command so that some folks are willing to crash and burn in the interests of being "a good soldier." The general spent how many years building a reputation as a straight shooter and an innovator? And he is willing, like Esau, to sell it all for a bowl of chili. How sad.

  • ha ha ha!

You pathetic liberals. I love your response, particularly the all-bold entires.

    Touched a nerve, did I?

  • huh huh huh, touched a nerve, huh huh huh

You're just another idiot with nothing to say.

  • Clap Harder, damn it!

Somehow, none of this is surprising. Another round of BS from the WH; another troll spouting their projected fears of a "caliphate" of head choppers taking over the US. Could any of you at least show some modicum of originality or even a sign of some cognitive ability? Hello?
