Hastert- Genocide Booster
Hastert years ago introduced a bill in the House to label and condemn the Ottoman Empire's genocide of Armenians early in the 20th century. Then he killed his own bill. Later it came to light (in a Vanity Fair article) that he took thousands in bribes from Turkish sources (perhaps even connected to heroin cash, it has elsewhere been stated). Amazingly, nothing ever came of this. The FBI translator who had the dirt on Hastert was gagged by the Ashcroft Justice Department who invoked the State Secrets privilege. I am not making this shit up.
