Don't kid yourselves that his departure means the end of his brand of slime politics.
That was what we thought when Lee Atwater died, too, peeing himself in terror at the thought of going to Hell and sniveling for forgiveness. But as the bard said, the evil that men do lives after them, and it will live after Rove as well. Meanwhile, does anyone besides me notice a pattern in the way that the gentlemanly, well bred George H.W. Bush and the back slappin' friendly good ol' boy George W. hire people like that to do their dirty work?
I really hope now that he'll no longer be protected from subpoenas with "executive privilege," but that's probably a vain hope. Dubbya is claiming executive privilege for everyone who ever spoke to him for more than five minutes, and making it retroactive to his college days.
