Right wing attacks Edwards
Right wing (drudge, etc) are going after Edwards full-on.
Hope to 'define him' early...
A Hillary/Obama ticket will NOT win. Too many Americans will not VOTE for that ticket.
Edwards/Obama...or Edwards/Biden....or Edwards/Webb...would LIKELY WIN.
Wake up, Dems.

Anger is occasionally useful
The 5'8" middle school bully holds the much smaller boy at bay by gripping his face and stiff-arming him as the little kid swings wildly at his tormentor. Red faced and crying in frustration and anger, the little little kid flails helplessly, and the bully says, "aw, look at the little crybaby, he's angry!"
But as the bully tauts, the little angry kid cocks his right leg back and kicks the bully square in the nuts, almost lifting him into the air.
It can happen. Sometimes it does happen. When it happens, it's delicious.

Not around here
"Dennis Kucinich ... might have something to say about who's the "populist" candidate "giving voice to voters' frustrations."
Not in the liberal parts of Iowa, anyway. Kucinich got fairly substantial support from Iowa's left four years ago, in a Eugene Debs "who do you really want in office" sort of way. This year, his support is practically nonexistent. It's split between Edwards and Obama, with the remainder going to Richardson or Biden, Richardson growing in strength and Biden slowly fading. Those who never regretted supporting Kerry like Clinton, which still makes her a solid contender.
In Iowa, which is more of a national bellwether than the national polls themselves, the top three candidates are neck and neck. Clinton and Obama have gained on Edwards, but not passed him. Kucinich has never left Cleveland.
Most important new wild card issue: progressives' disgust with the Congressional Democrats for caving in on the new surveillance bill. Should work in Edwards' favor, but we'll see.

What insufferable impudence on Edwards' part: to be angry!!
When we have SO MUCH to be thankful about:
the Military Commissions Act, warrantless wiretapping, war in Iraq and Afghanistan, disaster brewing in Pakistan, a planned strike against Iran, hurricane season coming on, global warming, the extinction of the Yangtze dolphin, mules foaling, the Yankees trying for the wild-card slot, Scooter Libby's commutation, 50 million uninsured Americans in the richest nation on earth, a moron in the White House, with an asshole as VEEP . . . why would anyone be angry . . . being ANGRY is just so filled with negativity . . .

And what of it?
Pickler’s AP article is fair, if somewhat fluffy. She describes Edwards as angry but “channeling his emotion in a more deliberate way” [than Howard Dean].
Pickler gets sloppy with her union workers sidebar, but that’s my only real criticism with her “slant.”
Yeah, Edwards, Democrats and much of the country are angry—as well they should be. Former Deaniac-turned Edwards senior adviser Joe Trippi sums it up well:
Right now I think there are a lot of people who are really like John Edwards who believe Washington is really broken. It's not about whether you are angry or not, it's about are you expressing in an appropriate way when the rest of the country says, 'Yeah, I'm outraged about that, too.'
This isn't just Democratic anger, and this anger is hard-earned.

Come on, that's not an anti-union position.
Forcing people to join is un-American. In fact, Biden doesn't have a leg to stand on...Edwards has helped six states to pass minimum wage increases. Also, Senator Kennedy is about to take up his proposal to raise the national minimum to 9.50/hr by 2012.
People should not be misled about the press attempting to define the Edward's Campaign because populism has nothing to do with it. Edwards campaign in against the system being rigged to the hilt. 37million in poverty and 45 million without health care isn't class war/populism, it's central to the nation's worsening condition.
In actuality the press wants to define Edwards because they're often part of the problem.

Good for John Edwards!
ANd he is electable. Of course he's angry..we're all angry. I hope the Iowa people give him a stron lead. He is the Democrats most electable candidate....a white southern man and a true progressive to boot.

Note to: Garry Owen
In my case it was the 6'0" red-haired 17 bully who tried to suckerpunch me during a 4-square game. When I ducked my head, he hit me square on top of the skull, and you could hear each of at least 17 of the 27 bones in his right hand crackling like corn sheaves.
They never did get his hand screwed together quite right.

Nedra Pickering: Time to have your credentials pulled....
Once again, the MSM is determined to reduce critical debate on major issues to a fashion and personality race (with the occasional titty fetish thrown in just to keep it interesting).
As for the anger issue... These candidates do not come close to the anger, contempt and quite frankly, violence that I feel towards the war criminals, profiteers and other rip-off artists that are running our governement.
I think the Democratic candidates are the picture of decorum in light of the unbelievable direction and position the Bushists and their supporters have brought our country to.
I hear George W. Bush tell the Chinese they are "foolhardy" to threaten retailation against the dollar for our (the Bushists) threats agains the Yuan.... and I want to throw that alcoholic felon into a sack and beat him with a baseball bat for selling the Chinese so much of our treasure that they have enormous leverage over our economy.
Oh...and why did we sell the Chinese nearly a TRILLION dollars in bond and t-bills? To fund an illegal war that we couldn't afford to pay for because president shit-for-brains cut taxes for the very wealthiest.
Angry? I would take Dick Cheney and stick his head into a microwave at 7-11 and hold him there until the blood in his brain fried, or his pacemaker exploded in his chest for beating the drum against every aspect of civil right and democratic process guaranteed to us by the constitution.
There wouldn't be the slightest hesitation to take Alberto Gonzales and throw him into a Supermax prison with a sign pinned to his ass that says "I'm The Man... what do you want to do about it?"
My laundry list of issues, crimes and positions that the Bushists have committed is long, long, long. We are in deep shit because of these dangerous fools.
No, there are few from this administration that would escape my wrath. What passes for candidates in this election cycle is some very watered down version of anger at best. It is, perhaps, intense distaste...but it's not anger. There are no charges of war crimes or crimes against the peace being leveled. No one has suggeted that the Bushists be charged with sedition and other crimes against the state for breaking domestic laws and flouting, if not attempting to dismantle the Constitution of the United States.
The candidates are the picture of civility compared to the administration they will replace. And they are far too civil in their debate of issues like the war and where the Bushists have brought us. Really, what I would like to see is a bit more anger. I would like to see a wave of discontent, unbridled against the anarchists who have been running the show for so many years.
