Libby Pardon: Fly Disgraced Red White and Blue at Half Mast this 4th

Dick Cheney and George Bush are a disgrace to our country. They are skillful liars as are all psychopaths. In fact lack of concern for community or democratic values as in putting oneself above the law combined with habitual lying defines psychopathy. It defines Cheney and Bush.

I personally don’t think Scooter is a psychopath on the order of Cheney and Bush. I believe he lived in an environment where lying and duplicity were practiced daily on the most egregious levels. Living in this environment day in and day out, he had little practical knowledge or experience that there could or might be even one possible iota of repercussion for bold faced lying. Lacking the snakelike skills of a Cheney or Bush he blew it.

That Scooter, the person, should not have to spend years in prison strikes a sympathetic chord with me.

That Scooter, the representative of an administration that adheres to no moral system in the pursuit of power and economic gain, should avoid justice makes me vomit.

I think we should fly all American flags at half staff this 4th and until these mendacious psychopaths are escorted out of the White House, one way or the other.

Better yet perhaps, would be to visit or demonstrate in D.C. and simply leave flags at the White House gates and the Supreme Court building. This, turning in of the flags, will represent that the Red, White and Blue is used only for propaganda by Bush, Cheney and the neocon party and it no longer represents American values.

It has been disgraced

A nation of laws for the law abiding...

but not for the powerful lawless, that is what we are, and have been.

You all know how it is written. Our system of justice is such that it applies to any citizen who has been "duly convicted by a jury of their...errr...

"They have had their sentences duly commuted by a jury of their peers."

There, that's right now...it always said that didn't it?

"Two legs good, four legs beeeeeeetter."

Are We Still A Nation of Laws?

I'm confused. Do we even have a country at this point or just a mish-mash of state governments with an overlord monarchy calling shots over his fiefdom?? I truly feel as though there is nothing left to believe in, that this country has zero honor left and a level of integrity that makes dirty, well worn doormats look like museum-quality tapestries. I can affirm that I still believe in the old parchments that are stored and displayed in Philly, but at this point, they represent nothing more than a fairy tale, a dream as faded as the white from their pages. Kinda like the blurry pictures your imagination constructs and fills your head with while listening to one of your grandparents' stories from long ago. The foundations it had laid for what was once a great nation has been thoroughly razed.

It's astonishing.. ASTONISHING to me, that so much unchecked damage to our constitution, to our founding principles, to our granted rights as citizens, to our long held belief in the rule of law, in justice, in peace and prosperity could have culminated to such miserable ends so fast. Eventhough efforts to subvert justice for one’s personal gain or protection is nothing new here, it took just a little over 6 years to push what has become a flaming trainwreck of a nation straight over the cliff and into oblivion.

The Kings' 2 tier justice system may as well have been an a-bomb going off in the minds and beliefs of everyone from those who opposed him from the outset to those who once held Him and His in high regard. There are only traces left, mere shadows burned into the walls of justice like the victims of Hiroshima, of what is left of this once great nations' rule of law and judicial system. It's all run by kangaroos apparently and functions to soak up tax money and the spotlights of those who want to manipulate it for their own personal gain.

Aside from the flickers of hope stemming from the investigations by Leahy, Conyers and Waxman, there is apparently little to no action being taken against these flagrant criminals. If complacency with these HIGH CRIMES is the M.O. for our Legislative branch, then we are truly back to having nothing more than ideas of what a nation should be and not one that is based in the broken, dysfunctional reality we all endure.

libby pardon

I can't wait to listen to the apologists on Bush letting Libby out of jail. I bet they all wanted Clinton impeached, thrown to the wolves, but not Libby. Oh, no... so now the message to my kid is if you are a conservative (supposedly who Bush is pandering to by deciding to let Libby off), you are for two different justices. If you are not a member of the GOP and you are guilty you must be punished, if you are a Republican you can cheat, lie, and get pardoned. Remember when Clinton pardoned his buddies what the conservatives said? Right, I figured so much... And the Media is always so upset that this country is split in two… oh, poor members of the intelligentsia. By God, that is a good thing. My solution to the problem is send all children of Republicans (who LOVE war) to Iraq and keep them busy, make sure all Republicans get no government healthcare, thus letting the rest of us get insured for free, and do what India did with Muslims when they created Pakistan. Break this country into two sovereign nations. One that is good to its citizens and communities and the other a Darwinian state where all the right wing nuts can go and live in their own hell.

Unwilling to "negotiate" with terrorists

Isn't that cute. You think China wasn't equipped to fight a global nuclear war before that. You're one of those people who's brains can only hold 2 or 3 facts at a time, aren't you? Are you actually scared that China intends to use space for a nuclear arsenal? See a shrink. No, really. You have paranoia issues. Also, go look up the list of pardons Reagan and W's daddy did. If you have any honesty at all (likely not, but there's always a chance), you'll be far more horrified than at Clinton's list.
