  • Thanks CT

Remind us to repay you the favor some day.

  • Grima Wormtongue Lieberman

"How long is it since Saruman bought you? What was the promised price?"

  • another big, wet kiss...

...to the voters of Connecticut. Thanks SO much guys, for putting back into office one of the single most contemptible politicians in American history.

As another poster put it: I sure hope we can return the favor someday. I'm just not sure how we could possible match the man who is Joe Lieberman.

  • Lieberman endorses "Whack-a-mole"

"Some argue that the new strategy is failing because, despite gains in Baghdad and Anbar, violence has increased elsewhere in the country, such as Diyala province. This gets things backwards: Our troops have succeeded in improving security conditions in precisely those parts of Iraq where the "surge" has focused. Al-Qaida has shifted its operations to places like Diyala in large measure because we have made progress in pushing them out of Anbar and Baghdad."

    Pathetic.

  • They're building soccor fields with REAL GRASS and children are strolling to school in blue pinafores

It's morning in Iraq and on the quiet, tree-lined streets boys are delivering papers on their bikes. The sounds of peace and progress are everywhere. You can hear the snic, snic, snic, of lawn sprinklers, the tink of glass bottles as the milkman delivers his delicious wholesome beverage. birds are twerping and cooing in the early morning sunshine.

It's a good day to go for a walk and greet the neighbors.

Why don't you go for a walk, Joe? Take McCain with you. Take a stroll down the beautiful boulevards to the city center and go shopping in the markets. It's a lovely day for a walk.

    Do go.

  • Blah, blah, blah.....

    ...blah, blah, blah, blah.

Has anyone noticed, nothing seems to have changed for the better in the last 7 years?

  • Apologies from CT

As a CT resident, I'm truly sorry for this snake that our electorate has unleashed on the world. Though I voted against Lieberman in both the primary and the general election, I suppose I should have done more. My punishment is that I have to live in Lieberman's hometown, brushing shoulders daily with the people who were willing to stoop so low to find his name and fabricated political party at the bottom of the ballot.

  • The Senator From Israel

Anything Joe Lieberman says is colored by the fact that he is basically the Israeli representative to the U. S. Senate. But, Israel is really treated like the 51st state, by both parties unfortunately, but particularly by the Bush administration. Since he is a representative of Israel that is how he got elected and why the Republicans support him, and how he was elected as an Independent. If you take the premise that he represents the Israeli voice, it gives the context for everything he says.

  • What're the General Dynamics behind Lieberman's mawkish hawkishness?

How is Shoeless Joe Lieberman benefiting from his ridiculous stance on the Iraq War? Is it really that he's Israel's sock puppet in Congress? Or are General Dynamics and others simply profiting handsomely from the war, and he doesn't want to let that key constituency down? From a late May press release from his office...

WASHINGTON - Senator Joe Lieberman, a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, lauded the committee's approval of a $648.8 billion defense authorization bill for FY 2008 that provides critical equipment to the nation's war fighters, including more than $3.8 billion to submarine construction and billions more for cutting-edge defense projects across Connecticut.

Isn't there a conflict of interest with a Senator who is deep in the hip pocket of the defense industry beating the pro-war, pro-escalation drum? It's the equivalent of the old Southern tobacco Congressmen, cigarettes perched on their lips, defending Big Tobacco, back in the day.

Shoeless Joe has got to go. But will CT voters accept that, knowing that their Pentagon pork buffet comes by way of Lieberman? The perils of a militarized society, I guess.

  • Don't blame me ...

not everyone in CT voted for the guy. If you remember, his own party chose Ned Lamont in the primary.

  • Unfortunate and painful, but...

...the time has come to ask a question that at first glance seems verboten and shocking. The question is this : Suppose there was some great cataclysmic event, say, an asteroid headed for Earth that was guaranteed to wipe out either America or Israel, but not both, and cause no damage to anything else around the target, and Joe Lieberman somehow could pick which country died, which one does he choose to save? As tragic as it is, he, and others in our elected and appointed government, make it very difficult to tell where their true loyalties lie. Does Nuke 'em Joe advocate an attack on Iran because it is what he believes is the best course for America, or because his first priority is making the world safer for Israel? Wouldn't THAT be the definition of treason?

  • noillusions

I think you're right, and I think Lieberman is just an example of what is cancerously wrong with this country. How many politicians must we listen to who tell us what's good for america when in fact the very opposite is true. Whether is Lieberman putting Israel before the needs af America and draping it in "the war on terror" or politicians beholden to the oil companies and whats good for them and Saudi Arabia or politicians that tell us our trade policies are actually good for the american worker (they just don't mention the american workers they refer to are wealthy corporate executives and ceo's).

America no longer exists. It a big clearing house for the corporate elite and a threadbare slogan for the red stateminions.

  • Oh, by the way, Jedimaster

I'm from Texas - what CT did to America is NOTHING compared to what my state dumped on it.

  • I feel safer already!

Our New Way Forward, now with MORE Joe-mentum! Victory in Iraq is just around the corner!
