Gen. Pace Incompetent?
Judge by the results.
What do the results say?
And let us have some reasons, not excuses.

IOKIYAR
McCain blasted General Casey when he was on his way out. His words were much harsher and more direct, too.
-
Who controls the agenda?
The Right is using this "story" as proof that Democrats are...blah, blah, blah. Whether he said it or not, now the issue has become: "Is Reid rude?. What it issue should be is: "Is the war being run incompetently?"
Personally, I don't care if Reid is rude, I do care about the leadership of this war.

Mountain out of a Mole hill
Harry Reid has no responsibility to verify or explain every word he said in a meeting just because people are writing about it. I appreciate the accuracy of Salon's reporting, but it is absolutely unimportant whether Reid called Pacer incompetent. Reid made it clear in the press conference, that whatever he said about Pace he told him to his face.
It takes a man of substance to tell another serious and accomplished person "I believe you are incompetent" Also we all really know it refers to his position as Joint Chief. He does not mean he is an incompetent Division Commander, father, husband, or church trustee. Also, Harry Reid understands others believe Pace is incompetent. Oh by the way, look at the condition of the US military. It is in bad shape. It has deteriorated since Pace became Joint Chief. Bush and Gates withdrew his nomination after being told he could not be confirmed again.
Also, who are these fools that believe Reid should not express his honest opinion on the performance of people appointed by the President and approved by the Senate. He has a responsibility to judge their performance. Even if he is mistaken, he must make a judgment. That’s his job.

Even if he is mistaken, he must make a judgment. That’s his job.
No it isn't. You're full of crap.
His job, and Nancy Pelosi's also, is to get us the hell out of Iraq. Commenting on a departing general does nothing to get us out of Iraq.
Commenting on a departing general is a sour, non-productive waste of time that makes Reid, who also by the way NEVER SERVED HIS COUNTRY, look like a pencil-neck dweeb with a bellyache. Just another reason for a swing voter in the Midwest to think Democrats are a bunch of goofballs.
-
Actually an important detail.
The idea that this man, who holds such an important title, may be incompetent is very important. This speaks to Bush & Co.'s priorities.
After all, the number one requirement for the job is to agree without question that this neo-con business venture (aka war in iraq) is working and is just.
Given these requirements, the list of "qualified" generals is rather short.

Sounds like
wise reporters now have to record everything to cover themselves.

So, what's the big deal.
General Pace has apparently been insulted for being a Yes Man. To another "incompetent" named George.
Harry Reid may not have actually Called Pace Incompetent, but he should have.
