The only thing missing...
...is Lieberman's whiny voice, which Jon Stewart mocks so well.
While the image of the good senator in his flak jacket ("flack" jacket definitely IS more descriptive, as already pointed out) really tells the tale, the audio of this event will be the icing on the cake. Can't wait to catch a full report on NPR or one of the TV networks.
Gee, do you think Joe might consent to sign on AGAIN as a vice presidential candidate, this time with Sen. McCain, prior to the Republican convention? They could make joint appearances in their matching "flack" jackets!

We all know "G.I. Joe" Lieberman would know all about heading in that direction -- he always makes right turns. But if you don't change course, you end up going in circles, which says everything about where we are in Iraq.

We've now had over a hundred dead soldiers for two consecutive months, the first time that's happened in this hideous bloodbath. 104 in April, 117 so far in May. Joementum is a spineless toady. It's hard to be worse than a republikan, but Lieberthing has done it. His soul is an ethics free zone.

I have to ask.. How much honesty do you demand from your public servants? If Gov. Rowland was not good enough of a leader because of the blatant corruption that got him impeached and thrown in jail, do you really, truly believe Holy JOE is any better than Rowland? Is he really telling us the truth with statements like "Overall, what I'd say I see here today is progress, significant progress, from the last time I was here in December. And if you can see progress in war, that means you're headed in the right direction." or is he just propping up the very lies, unfounded truths and factual obfuscation that brought us to Iraq in the first place?
Let's face it, the man's relevancy as a leader for your state is on the line, he appears and sounds desperate with smug, false statements like this one. Do you have any buyers' remorse from last year or does Ned Lamont still seem too far to the left? Whose interest does Joe serve? Is it yours or his own???

He's an Idiot

I am no fan of Senator Droopy Dog. I am not porud to call him my (junior) Senator. I think he just said enough to get re-elected. For the most part Joe does not get much coverage here in CT. His op-eds appear in the Washington Post, and occasionally the Wall Street Journal.
My own opinion is the republicans have puffed him up and made him feel important. He does not realized he's been co-opted, he thinks he's just cooperating. I think the national exposure is more important to Senator Lieberman than his constiuents in CT. He does not have a snow ball's chance in hell to be a running mate to McCain. Someone may be whispering in his ear that he could have it, in exchange for his continued support of all things Bush. In the end they'll just screw him - he's already shown he can't win in the polls.

We need more translators
I think one of our biggest problems in dealing with the Iraq situation is that we have insufficient translators to helps the process along.
For example Mr. Lieberman says: "Overall, what I'd say I see here today is progress, significant progress, from the last time I was here in December. And if you can see progress in war, that means you're headed in the right direction."
Now I personally need a translator to understand that comment given the increasing number of deaths and violence since the "surge" began. I must have either misunderstood what Mr. Lieberman says here or I am misunderstanding the correlation between the "surge" and the increasing violence and losses that our troops are experiencing. Combine that with the collapse of the Democratic resistance to the president and this war and I'd say we have and enormously blood and expensive "failure to communicate".
