Then can we move on to investigate the scandalous end-around Gonzales and Andy Card tried to pull in trying to get a bedridding John Ashcroft to sign off on the illegal wiretapping scheme in 2004?
Then can we FINALLY move on to impeachment?????

Impeachment
Much as I'd love to see Bush, Cheney, Scallia and a few others impeached, it won't happen until enough Republicans think their best interests lie in impeaching. Without that, it is a quixotic quest at best.

No, it might be MORE important to hire "safe" janitors!
After all, they have access to the whole place, including after normal business hours, and also see the stuff that's supposed to be deep-sixed in the trash.
Everyone knows how productive it can be to go dumpster-diving when looking for incriminating documents -- so having "safe" janitors on the Justice Dept. payroll just MIGHT make sense for Gonzalez and friends!

What's next?
I'm waiting for them to start looking outside the DOJ. Are there not laws regarding political hires at the EPA? The FDA? All the rest of the alphabet soup that supposedly protects us from Big Bidness, Big Govmint and such?

Janitors? It'll be the next President who will have to clean up this mess
What happens if (when dammit!) the next President is a Democrat? All of those unqualified Bush loyalists will still be in "career" positions. If they are fired then the Republicans will raise a huuuuuge stink and the press will make it a big scandal.
Of course the same thing goes double for the CIA since there was a real effort to get non-compliant, i.e. honest, professionals to leave.
The loss of a large number of career professionals has really diluted the level of experience throughout the government. The next President will have a hard time rebuilding the capabilities of many government agencies without having to deal with people who hate Democrats and other godless Liberals.
