For Sale

One soul. Hardly ever used. We've been holding this little number in escrow since December, 2000, but it doesn't look like the previous owner will be using it any time soon.

Contact: SCOTUS

Yes, and then there's the accuracy of his "soul-dar"

A news report I heard today reminded me that Bush also said he got a sense of Vladimir Putin's soul and that he was a guy to be trusted, so maybe some calibration is in order.

I love the smell of acrid smoke upon Satan's entrance.

See Rove is right. Bush isn't the problem. It's the minions who love him who are. Of course he reflects America's soul. That's what's so deliciously sanguine about it.

The emperor has no clothes...

America has to serach for it's soul? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. That means you- George Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Condoleezza Rice, Paul Wolowitz, Richard Armitrage, Richard Pearle, Donald Rumsfeld, et al.

This administation has sold out the American people lock, stock, and barrel. They have shredded the constitution, violated human rights, committed crimes, all in the so-called name of fighting terrorism. They have been wrong on too many occasions to mention, only to ask us to contuinue to allow them to govern without question on our part or risk being called unpatriotic.

The only question I have is WHAT will it take, what is the tipping point for this Democratic controlled congress to assert itself and discuss articles of impeachment? Why not? Do the Republicans have some pictures of Reid, Pelosi, and others in compromising positions?

No wrongdoing?

For Bush to say that it's "certain" that there was no wrongdoing in the firing of the U.S. Attorneys is quite disingenuous. That is hardly certain at all. And the reason that it is not certain is because all the investigations, hearings and questions have not led to a clear and satisfactory conclusion as to exactly who made the firing decisions and why...mainly because of the extraordinary evasdiveness and stalling by members of the administration.

Wednesday, May 30, 2007 01:36 PM

Of course Bush believes there was no "wrongdoing,"

These days with the unitary executive, Bush may do whatever he chooses and call it right. Rove may also do whatever Bush chooses and call it right.

Grieve is correct. Bush's comments are effectively a non-denial denial.

Bush continuing to the end of his present term is like allowing a rattlesnake to live in the kitchen cabinet where the water glasses are kept.

War with Iran is what the neocons have planned for us all along. They still have the power to take us there between now and 2009.

Double Negation

It is normally regarded as a strong positive. No wrongdoing done? Brother, does he need to learn English, and that is the President, Decider, leader of the free world which definitely deserves better.

Bush The Liar

Evidently, Bush will say that there was no wrongdoing. When was the last time that this President told the truth or kept his promises? Remember what he said about the outing of Valerie Plame? That anyone in the WH who was involved with it would be fired? The vicious tub of lard -- Karl Rove -- is still there.

Why is anyone so outraged that Bush is again lying? He has been lying to the American public since 2000. In fact, he has been lying his entire useless life.

So, push for Cheney's and Bush's simulteanous impeachment. Now! Bush and Cheney have another 18 months to bring another war upon us and inflict untold more damage on our proud nation.

Jethro W.

"There has been plenty of...hearings,...statements..."

"...wrongdoing done..."

The guy has a breathtaking talent for mangling communication in general.

Manhattanite

The point about outrage came up on Greenwald's comment section today. He carefully pointed out that there are still people out there who are in need of seeing through all the lies. It is a wonderful public service that the folks at Salon are carrying out by carefully and meticulously pointing out each lie, while providing ample verifiable evidence. The task must seem daunting, but each little bit helps, and if you read carefully, you will find new people each day coming on board.

BTW I should have added to the For Sale post:

Only used on Sundays by a little old governor in Texas.

Nations re-souled while U wait!

Don't worry about the nation losing its soul, Georgie. Dick Cheney can arrange a no-bid contract with Halliburton to provide us with a new (leaky, substandard) soul for a mere trillion dollars or so.

Wednesday, May 30, 2007 03:11 PM

No wrongdoing done?

Then why did Monica Goodling need immunity before she would testify before Congress?

As I recall, she testified under oath that "I crossed the line of the civil service rules."

Perhaps he means that "Karl told me that he did nothing wrong, and he told me he always tells me the truth", forgetting that a liar would say the exact same thing.

Rove Is No Atwater

Karl Rove is an abomination. He makes Lee Atwater look like a straigt shooter.

Thursday, May 31, 2007 03:41 AM

There is no Karl Rove.

It's really Cheney with a different pair of glasses. Hey, if Clark Kent could pull it off who's to say Cheney, that master of disguise ( disguised as a human being) couldn't? I mean, you hardly ever see Rove and Cheney in the same photo eh?

why he can avoid giving straight answers ...

As long as the citizens are content to blog and not take to the streets with their demands for Iraq's freedom from our country, his resignation as the president and an international criminal court (similar to Nuremberg court) to try him along with his cronies, why can't he continue to do what he is good at till he is ready to earn a pension as a president, namely lying and indulging in criminal activities such as torture!

while growing up in Texas

"while growing up in Texas"? George W. Bush grew up in Greenwich Connecticut and attended New Canaan Country Day School, a private school where I guarantee you there are no Mexican immigrants in attendance.
