The Religious Right

Monica Goodling is of course a member of the religious right.

Amaaaazing, how religious they are with their lying and corruption. Just absolutely amaaazing.

Discouraged

So for the second time in a week we discover that Gonzales purjured himself in front of Congress, and we get spin and "stay tuned." I can't say that I'm confident anything will happen. Will Congress re-consider re-authorizing a draft of a possible subpoena of Rove et al? Stayed tuned indeed, but for what?

Maybe,

just maybe, during her studies at Messiah College and Regent University little Miss Fundie overlooked the scripture that directs: ". . . and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you . . ." (I Peter 3:15, KJV)

Maybe Gonzales forgot something else

That any conversation he had with any potential witnesses would be subject to intense scrutiny-coaching a potential witness is a definite no-no in law.

If I needed a lawyer, I certainly would not hire any of these fools, because it's evident they don't know the first thing about law. I probably know more law off hand than they do (and I'm not kidding).

He has a very convenient lack of memory-she doesn't seem to have one quite as bad, but I don't think she's being quite as honest as she should be. Perhaps a review of laws and penalties relating to perjury and obstruction of justice would do Goodling and Gonzales a bit of good.

Now all we need is emails and a tape!

The next logical question

Did *nobody* ask Ms Goolding hat Gonzales "laid out" from his "recolletions"??

Seems to me that was the next logical question ...

I guess the Secret Cabal/Mafia Paralells were not pervasive enough for the Administration's taste.

This kind of passive aggressive coaching/programming reads like something out of The Godfather. "This is how I remember things . . . " has got to be the most half-assed code for "Make sure you corroborate this story" that I've ever heard.

And truly these are tactics that have been used time and again by Republicans and Democrats alike. However, the goals of this administration are so consistently insidious and severe in terms of their goals for America and the world that the line must be drawn here.

Consequences for lying to Congress?

So what's the penalty if Gonzales is caught lying to Congress? Is there one at all, or will he just decide to resign so he can "spend more time with his family?"

Why are these people NEVER held accountable?!?!?

Did The Gonz coach a witness?

Gee, y'think?! Seems impossible. Especially a little Christian twinkette who's been brainwashed since birth. Think she was primed to accept a little more programming? Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. Amen.

PURJORY

So he testified that he didn't have any contact with witnesses?

He purjored himself!!!

What FUN!!!

Congressional Oversight. What fun. I love it.

Just ONE thing I will EVERY Dem would say when they get on TV would be to mention that for the last six year the GOP NEVER did ANYTHING like Congressional oversight.

Just say over and over and over that for six years the GOP Congress simply did not do their job. It applies to Iraq, the DOJ, just about everything. And I wish the Dems would say it whether it applies to the current conversation or not

.

Obviously, this is a tactic I learned from the GOP.....

I've got a better one!

"No," Goodling said. "I just didn't know if this was a conversation that we should be having."

New Improved question:

Imagine you're back in law school (first year?) and your professor asks "why shouldn't the subject of an investigation speak to a witness?". What would your answer be?

Wednesday, May 23, 2007 02:07 PM

Why Not?

"No," Goodling said. "I just didn't know if this was a conversation that we should be having."

Q: Why not?

Shouldn't someone who passed the bar on her first try be able to answer that?

Reminiscent of Clinton "coaching" Betty Currie

This could only be seen as coaching. Just like with the Bettie Currie case. It's not explicit but then it is obviously not meant to be. Clearly the conversation serves no other purpose.

Blind leading the blind

Funny. Fredo can't remember shit when he's on the stand, but he's coaching MG about what to remember?

Wednesday, May 23, 2007 01:55 PM

Whart else?

Covering his ass was predominant for Gonzales, so trying to influence others with his views and lies was only natural. That seems to be the republican practice, starting at the very top.

Wednesday, May 23, 2007 01:51 PM

How many times did he testify

that he would NEVER talk to a fact witness? Just one more lie...
