    pure stonewalling

This will end like Nixon: with a pardon or two or three. Gonzo will eventually leave (resignation or impeachment), but the administration will drag this out so Gonzo can draw the fire for as long as possible. The administration doesn't want a replacement AG who might appoint a special prosecutor (or aid the on-going investigations in any way).

The Democrats will continue to investigate all of these matters and then Gonzo will be pardoned by January 2009.

If they have committed felonies, the end game for the president and the vice-president will be to avoid getting convicted themselves.

Pres will pardon the veep, then resign and get pardoned by the next Gerald Ford, or maybe there will be some tragedy that will overtake all of this.
