    Language is Everything

What a curious choice of words - and episode - Ms. Perino called it, when describing the tawdry, staged extravaganza, the “Mission Accomplished” hoax starring the faux warrior-pilot and absentee National-Guard dilettante. Because so many people have since perished, this episode can’t be from a soap opera or old serial western – so what’s in a name anyway and what is an episode?

Breaks from reality in those afflicted with mental disorganization (characterized by faulty ego structures) are referred to as episodes. You Tell Me!!! Was the fictional purchase of nuclear materials in Africa cited in the State of the Union address just another episode in the life of the boy-king? Was the contrived fantasy linking Saddam and Al Quaida another? Was the warning of imminent danger during the summer of 2001 overlooked or disregarded during yet another episode?

Ms. Perino continues to demonstrate brand of loyalty to this President that often proves toxic. I hope it serves her well when President has occasion to publicly declare his complete confidence in her while she meanwhile ponders a likely bevy of subpoenas or spends her days with her attorney(s) trying to “unspin” the spin in the courtroom of history on matters foreign and domestic from possible war crimes to bungling illegal emails.

When this administration speaks, the intellectual mire bubbling up between the lies and the incompetence almost looks inviting! Perhaps we should feel better knowing that prior to her ascendancy from the Council on Environment Quality to the Queen of Spin, Ms. Perino kept herself sufficiently informed about fall of Baghdad – and episode (should we survive it) that will redirect civilization throughout this millennium. It is true indeed, that “Baghdad did fall very quickly”. On the other hand, the President’s statement characterizing the fall of Baghdad – “In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed” was a lie then, it’s a lie now no SPIN can render it truthful. Welcome to the White House!
