    Al Qaeda

    Al Qaeda was not in Iraq when we invaded. Zarqawi was in Kurdish-controlled northern Iraq, out of reach of Saddam. President Bush passed on three chances to kill Zarqawi before the invasion because Zarqawi's presence in Iraq was the only thing backing his claim that Iraq harbored terrorists. Zarqawi changed the name of his organization to "Al Qaeda in Iraq" in 2004.
