Bush vs Johnson

I've heard than Lyndon Johnson used to read the daily casualty reports for Vietnam and weep over the loss of life. Bush doesn't see these.

Bush not only doesn't want to know, he resents it when anyone calls attention to how many soldiers die or are wounded in the war that he wanted so badly.

Johnson chose not to run for reelection. Bush ran for reelection on staying the course and staying in Iraq.

You see the difference? Lyndon Johnson had a soul.

So go to a damn funeral then

Or, if that's too controversial, send one of Dubya's handlers over to the Smithsonian museums. My informal observation (we take the kids to one of them every couple of weeks) is that there's usually one or two young men with military haircuts, camouflage backpacks, and one or more missing limbs, touring the museums. I bet those young men and their visiting families would be interested to visit the White House and hear about the burden of watching the casualty lists grow longer.

I don't doubt that there are bad days for Mrs Bush and I'm sure she didn't see this vision of the future when she agreed to marry her husband, but I still can't quite muster up any sympathy. Boo fucking hoo.

She forgot to mention....

It must also give her great strength and solice when she hugs her 2 enlistment age children.

Laura needs to walk a few hundred miles in my shoes...or barefoot on glass shards...same thing

I'm with Garry Owen...it's bad enough Bush is doing this, and belligerently insists on continuing his disastrous course.

It's bad enough Bush exhibits nothing but callous disregard for the carnage he is inflicting on our troops and innocent Iraqi's. And for the aftermath.

And it's bad enough that there are dozens of quotes over the past several years in which he smirks that he has absolutely no trouble sleeping at night.

But now we have to be slapped with Laura's crap about how hard this is on THEM!

Note to Laura Bush: I've been through three deployments of two children to Iraq. You have no fucking idea of what fear and stress is. And I've been lucky...my kids are alive.

How DARE you even suggest that ANYONE should care about the weight of this situation on you and its chief perpetrator. All those idiots who are "praying" for you and W would be better Christians if they started praying for the troops who are bearing the horrific consequences of this...and for a way out of your husband's mess.
