These neocon dorks actually think this is a game. People are dying, the world thinks the U.S. is being run like a third rate regime, we have a V.P. running the country from an undisclosed location, an Attorneys General with a learning curve slightly lower than a fourth grader, a host of loosely affiliated GOP morons running around looking for an exit strategy and an economy that is tanking while leaving our borders faster than we are importing toys from China. Nauseated yet?
It's enough to make one wonder what the other 85 did to keep their jobs...Lo and behold, another story out today that in, I think Michigan or Wisconsin, that the conviction of a Democrat is overturned because there was NO EVIDENCE of any wrongdoing, and the Attorney in that case is reprimanded.

Unreal.
Oh, and it turns out another attorney voluntarily resigned, and received $1.5 mil to represent the Republican she was investigating right before she resigned.
!!!
Mayberry Machiavellis, indeed....
Enough!
No more talking, no more White House "offers" of anything. Issue the subpoenas now and get on to the inevitable court fight. This much overt resistance is - or at least ought to be seen as - prima facie evidence of obstruction of justice.
with all their is to deal with in the world the dems are going to spebd all their time on how the admin poorly spuns something they were allowed to do?
This is the best use of their time and the mandate they received in Nov.?
TIberius, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I'll assume that you would find the use of the DOJ to cripple one's enemies to be unacceptable. So, the question is, has that been occurring? I don't think we know yet, but the question is important enough that yes, Congress should dig into it. We need to know, beyond any reasonable doubt, that the DOJ is not a political weapon of the incumbent administration.
Is the Bush administration abusing the power of the DOJ? Let's talk about that, rather than "muddying the coverage" here.
When observing how Bush supporters respond to the realization that they support the worst president ever, I find it useful to determine which stage of grief they happen to find themselves at that particular moment. Here at War Room, we see all types. Most often Shock or Denial, and rarely Acceptance. Acceptance would require self-examination and growth, two things completely foreign to Bush supporters:
* Shock stage: Initial paralysis at hearing the bad news.* Denial stage: Trying to avoid the inevitable.
* Anger stage: Frustrated outpouring of bottled-up emotion.
* Bargaining stage: Seeking in vain for a way out.
* Depression stage: Final realization of the inevitable.
* Testing stage: Seeking realistic solutions.
* Acceptance stage: Finally finding the way forward.
Of course completely undermining the legal and political systems of the country is trivial. Why should any one care if the courts were being used in a partisan manner to try to influence elections? That's just politics! Right?
If this isn't a big deal, what would be? Would locking up rival candidates be a big deal? How about arresting campaign workers for littering while they distirbute flyers? How about usingthe IRS to commence audits on every Democratis candidate? I mean, if they have nothing to hide, they'll come out fine, right?
Don't give them ideas. the ones they come up with on their own are bad enough.
nothing even remotely looks as bad as you want it to be.
"Sorry guys... nothing even remotely looks as bad as you want it to be."
And we have Denial!
I'm thinkibng of a million citizen march on the mall. We all wear tshirts that say "Gee, we just don't believe you, W."
If it all weren'tso sad, I'd laugh til I barf.
It's not mud; it's fecal matter. The formerly White House, now deep doo-doo brown, has a plumbing problem very much like the Nixxon administration. Plumbers under oath- sounds like a B movie, but I'd watch every minute, right down the perp walk, orange jump suit finale.

Clearly
TRUTH fades into the mud.
IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY
"bloody the coverage"
Agree with the folks who think its way past time for subpoenas and special prosecutors (although I wonder where we could find an apolitical US Atty to act as special prosecutor, sadly they all seem tainted to me).
Why do the Dems and reasonable Repubs (who might want to get re-elected some time soon) think its smart to wait for the Bush admin. to destroy any and all evidence of their crimes.
I say move quickly and take strong action.
This e-mail (which Karl and Company neglected to delete) is yet another example of the inability to "contain" all of the damning evidence that remains to be found. The unprecedented level of corruption is so monolithic it cannot fail to leave a Thomas Bros. guide of actionable material. It is indeed frustrating that it is a challenge to dig up all that remains, not only because of the efforts to destroy or withhold it, but because of the sheer volume. On top of that, the Dems are going to follow that pesky rule of law thing.
Meanwhile, the bloodletting goes on; there's the true heartbreaker.
The rewards of the journey on the long and winding road will be extraordinary, though. We'll get the country back and the Republican Party as we know it will be deleted.
I wonder if that's a crime in this type of situation? I mean, going out of your way to "insert" political talking points into the testimony of a government witness? I wonder what would have happened if the witness had failed to cover those points - were they threatened? Who knows?
And in the current framework, whatever happened to the whole point of the DOJ being to find out the truth, without which justice is moot?
