What's that, a wig made out of thousand dollar bills? :)
First, this War Room is item is quite disrespectful -- one should ALWAYS capitalize the formal title "Current Occupant" when referring to Dubya.
Second, former California State Senator Jim Brulte has uttered perhaps the best analysis of McCain yet -- there are probably millions of people whose expectations of John McCain are, shall we say, DIFFERENT from those we had 8 years ago. You would almost think that McCain 2008 is a doppelganger -- the evil twin of McCain 2000.
May he rest in peace as his campaign sinks slowly, slowly into well deserved oblivion.
He sounds horribly unmotivated, depressed, uninspirational. If anyone didn't actually want to run it's him. Why can't he just call Rove's bluff and see which pictures of him with boys and goats shows up. They guy's career is over anyway.
Don't McCain's campaign managers read the polls? The more McCain tries to "emulate" Bush, the worse his chances for the presidency become. He just made a total fool of himself "shopping" in Baghdad.
I did not know that he was that stupid.
is a prefect match to the Current Occupant. He's delusional if not completely out of touch, willing to prostitute himself for media coverage, not comfortable in his own skin, and apparently has the backing of those lemmings who have still not quite made it over the cliff. Although I must say recently we are see a few of them turning away just before the leap. But alas, they are too "emotional" to be considered "good lemmings"...
It is clear that McCain does not believe a single thing he says and on top of that he has to know that his positions are unpopular with the electorate and yet he doggedly goes on. Why? What does he expet to gain? Does he really imagine that he can convince the Republican core that he is the second coming of Bush and then turn around and convince the electorate at large that he isn't anything like Bush? At the rate he is going, McCain will be lucky if he can hold onto his Senate seat in 2010.
I have a hard time believeing that John McCain today is the same man I supported in 2000. It must be that an alien has taken over his body or perhaps an evil spirit or maybe the Senator has lost his intellectual and moral courage.
Anyway, all I can say is, "Go, get thee hence!"
